YS/T 546-2008: High purity lithium carbonate

This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, package, transportation, storage, ordering list (or contract) of high purity lithium carbonate. This Standard is applicable to the high purity lithium carbonate produced by the carbonate precipitation method using refined lithium hydroxide monohydrate as raw materials. The product is used for preparing lithium niobite, lithium tantalite acoustic grade single crystal, optical grade single crystal, and audio and video equipment.

Foreword
This Standard replaced YS/T 546-2006 High Purity Lithium Carbonate (original GB/T 10576-1989).
Compared with YS/T 546-2006, this Standard has the major changes as follows. --- Modify the text format;
--- Add the normative references;
--- Supplement the subclauses of the test methods;
--- Modify and supplement the subclauses of the inspection rules;
--- Supplement the contents on marking, package, transportation and storage; --- Add the contents on ordering list (or contract).
This Standard was proposed by and under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nonferrous Metals.

High Purity Lithium Carbonate
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, package, transportation, storage, ordering list (or contract) of high purity lithium carbonate.
This Standard is applicable to the high purity lithium carbonate produced by the carbonate precipitation method using refined lithium hydroxide monohydrate as raw materials. The product is used for preparing lithium niobite, lithium tantalite acoustic grade single crystal, optical grade single crystal, and audio and video equipment. 2 Normative References
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Standard through reference in this Standard. For dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding corrigendum) or revisions do not apply to this Standard, however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies.
GB/T 15346 Chemical Reagent - Packaging and Marking
3 Requirements
3.1 Product classification
The high purity lithium carbonate can be divided into three grades by the chemical compositions, including Li2CO3-05, Li2CO3-045, Li2CO3-04.
3.2 Chemical compositions
The chemical compositions of each grade of high purity lithium carbonate shall conform to the provisions of Table 1.
5.1.1 The product shall be inspected by the supplier?€?s Quality Supervision Department; ensure that the product conforms to the provisions of this Standard; fill in the quality certificate.
5.1.2 The purchaser can inspect the received products. If the test result doesn?€?t conform to this Standard, it shall be proposed to the supplier within 2 months since the receipt of the product; it shall be solved through the consultation between the supplier and the purchaser.
5.2 Batching
The products shall be delivered and accepted in batches; each batch shall consist of the same mixture. The products Li2CO3-05 and Li2CO3-045 shall take 100kg as a batch; while the product Li2CO3-04 shall take 1000kg as a batch.
5.3 Sampling
5.3.1 Take any 1 piece within 10 pieces; take any 2 pieces from 10 pieces ~ 20 pieces; take any 4 pieces from 20 pieces above.
5.3.2 Take sample from the mouth of each package by a small stainless-steel sampling tube at the 1/2 depth of the package of the materials; the positions of 3 sampling points shall be distributed evenly.
5.3.3 The sample quantity shall be no less than 200g; after mixing evenly in the mixed sample bottle, compress by the quartering method to the quantity required by the sample.
5.4 Judgment of the inspection results
When the chemical composition inspection is unqualified, then such batch of products are unqualified; when the products can?€?t pass the standard sieve shaker by 100%, then such batch of products are unqualified; when the appearance quality is unqualified, then such batch of products are unqualified.
6 Marking, Package, Transportation and Storage
6.1 Marking
The product standard shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 15346.
6.2 Package
6.2.1 The Products Li2CO3-05 and Li2CO3-045 shall be packed in double-layer polyethylene plastic bags, which are further packed in polyethylene bottles with inner and outer covers, then placed into the hard box; the net weight of each bottle is no
