Scope

This document specifies the measurement principle, specimens, measuring devices,
measurement system, determination, and test report for the specific total loss for electrical steel
strip and sheet under conditions of magnetic polarization involving a fundamental frequency
equal to the power frequency and the presence of higher harmonic components.
This document is applicable to grain-oriented and non-oriented electrical steel strip and sheet.
In this document, the order of higher harmonics shall not exceed the 25th for Epstein frame and
ring specimens, and shall not exceed the 13th for single-sheet specimens.
