Foreword
This Standard is formulated on the basis of concluding the domestic automotive air- conditioning test experience, and by referring to advanced technology standards in Japan and other foreign countries.
Since the effective date, this Standard replaced QCn 29008.9-1991 Automobile Product Quality Inspection ?€? Evaluation Method for Air-Conditioning System. This Standard specifies three test methods, namely, indoor environment simulation, outdoor static and outdoor driving; it is applicable to test the cooling performance of the automobile air-conditioners under full-vehicle state and thermal environment. This Standard was proposed by State Administration of Machinery Industry. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Automobiles.

Cooling Performance Test Method
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the test method for cooling performance of automotive air conditioners under the full-vehicle state and thermal environment. It specifies three test methods, namely, indoor environment simulation, outdoor static and outdoor driving. These three methods are independent from one another, one or more methods are allowed to be selected for testing.
2 Normative References

3 Terms
3.1 Automotive air-conditioning system
The system consisting of one or more components and necessary control components of heating device, cooling device, ventilation device, air purifying device, and humidifying device; used for adjusting the temperature, humidity and cleanliness of air in the passenger compartment; made them directionally flow and distribute in the passenger compartment; so that provide the driver and passenger with comfortable environment and fresh air.
3.2 Cooling device
The device consisting of compressor, condenser, receiver drier or liquid-gas separator, throttle element, evaporator, refrigerant line, etc.; transferring the heat in the vehicle to the outdoor environment.
3.3 Solar radiation intensity
The radiant power illuminated at a bin on a point of the surface is divided by the area of the bin.
4 Apparatus
4.1 Thermometer. resolution of 0.2 ??C.
4.2 Hygrometer, accuracy of ?? 3%.
4.3 Radiation intensity meter. accuracy of ?? 5 W/m2.
4.4 Anemometer. accuracy of ?? 5%.
4.5 Engine tachometer. resolution of 10 r/min.
4.6 Pressure gauge. resolution of 2 Pa.
5 Test Preparation
5.1 The vehicle preparation contents are as follows.
5.1.1 Record and inspect the manufacturer?€?s name, grade, model, engine number, VIN code, exit-factory date, etc. of the sample vehicle.
5.1.2 Check the vehicle preparation integrity and assembly adjustment, to that it can meet the technical requirements of the vehicle assembly adjustment.
5.2 Confirm that the tire pressure meets the relevant regulations of the vehicle?€?s instruction manual.
5.3 Confirm that the installation of the air-conditioning system meets the design requirements and can work normally.
5.4 Connect the engine tachometer to the engine.
5.5 Place the measuring points as required in Appendix A.
5.6 Confirm that the outlet of the vehicle air-conditioning system is placed in the fully- open position of the design.

Requirements for Measurement Items and Measuring Point Positions
A.1 Environment measurement items
Requirements. measure once at the beginning and end of the test, respectively. A.1.1 Environment temperature

Measuring point position. horizontal plane from the height of the vehicle roof. A.1.4 Wind speed
A.2 Measurement items within passenger compartment
A.2.1 Temperature measurement items
Requirements. measure once at least every 2min at the beginning of the test and during the first 10min of the test; then measure once at least every 5 min from the 10th minute till the end of the test.
A.2.1.1 Temperature of evaporator return air inlet
Measuring point position. it is located 100mm??10mm from the center of inner cycle return air inlet surface.
A.2.1.2 Temperature of each outlet
Measuring point position. at the center of outlet surface.
A.2.1.3 Temperature of occupant face position
Measuring point position. as shown in Figure A1, the position of Point-H shall be determined as per the provisions of GB/T 11563. For the passenger cars and trucks with 9 or less seats, each passenger seat temperature shall be measured; for the bus, the temperature of each seat on the front and rear rows shall be measured; for the seats in the middle, it is permissible to use the temperature measurement method against the interval-row seats, and the total number of measured seats shall be no less than 1/2 of the number of rated occupants.
