Technical specification and bench test methods for the
automated manual transmission assembly
1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements and bench test methods for
automated manual transmission assembly (hereinafter referred to as AMT).
This standard is applicable to AMT, which are equipped on category M and category N
motor vehicles. The AMTs for other types of vehicles can be used with reference to this
standard.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated
documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document;
for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is
applicable to this standard.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions, as defined in QC/T 1077, as well as the following terms and
definitions, apply to this document.
3.1
Gear selection operation system
The actuator, which is used to control the transmission to complete the gear selection
action.
4.2.3 During the test, the following requirements shall be met:
a) There shall be no oil seepage or leakage;
b) There shall be no abnormal noise or other forms of abnormal use.
4.2.4 After the test, the following requirements shall be met:
a) There shall be no fatigue damage to parts;
b) There shall be no oil seepage or leakage;
c) There shall be no abnormal noise or other conditions that lead to abnormal use.
4.3 Reliability of clutch operation system
4.3.1 Test according to 5.5. The number of separation and engagement of the clutch
operating system shall not be less than 2 x 106, for AMT with non-synchronizer shifting.
It shall not be less than 1 x 106, for AMT with synchronizer shifting. If there are special
working conditions, the supplier and the buyer shall negotiate separately.
4.3.2 During the test, the following requirements shall be met:
a) There shall be no oil seepage or oil leakage;
b) There shall be no abnormal noise or other forms of abnormal use.
4.3.3 After the test, the following requirements shall be met:
a) There shall be no fatigue damage to parts;
b) There shall be no oil seepage or leakage;
c) There shall be no abnormal noise or other conditions that lead to abnormal use.
5 Bench test method
5.1 Test sample
5.1.1 In one of the following situations, the bench test shall be carried out according to
5.2 ~ 5.5:
a) When developing new products;
b) After the new product is type finalized, there are major changes in structure,
material, process, etc., that may affect product performance.
5.1.2 Take samples according to the following requirements:
a) The mass production test samples shall be selected from the qualified products in
the exit-factory inspection, according to the provisions of GB/T 2828.l;
b) In the new product development stage, the test sample is a trial prototype;
c) Customer sampling or entrusting party to send samples.
5.1.3 Take least 2 test samples for each test item. If all test samples are qualified, the
item is judged to be qualified.
5.1.4 Before the test, test and record the test samples, according to the requirements of
the test items.
5.1.5 Multiple tests can be done on one transmission, without affecting subsequent tests.
5.2 Performance of AMT mechanical transmission system
According to the test method specified in QC/T 568, the rust prevention, cleanliness,
fatigue life, gear shift (synchronizer) life, static torsional strength, transmission
efficiency, noise, dynamic sealing performance, temperature rise performance, high
speed performance, and differential speed performance are tested.
5.3 Reliability of gear selection operation system
The AMT without gear selection steps is exempted from this test. The AMT with
integrated gear selection and shifting can be implemented as a reference.
5.3.1 Test device
The test bench for AMT gear selection operation system shall meet the following
requirements:
a) The test environment temperature can be adjusted; the temperature control error
shall not exceed ±5 °C;
b) It has the function of counting the number of gear selection.
5.3.2 Test procedure
5.3.2.1 Install the AMT's gear selection and shift operation system on the test bench;
5.3.2.2 Carry out gear selection cycles, according to the number of gear selection cycles,
which is set for each target gear selection; the following requirements shall be met:
a) The cycle frequency shall not be less than 10/min;
b) Cyclic method:
l) Select a gear from the initial gear selection position to the first target gear
