1 Scope
This Standard specifies the dimension, shape, technical requirements, inspection and test, marking and quality certificate, etc. of 08Ni3DR and 06Ni9DR steel plate for low temperature pressure vessels.
This Standard is applicable to the Baosteel enterprise produced 08Ni3DR and 06Ni9DR steel plate for low temperature pressure vessels; thereof, the use temperature range of 08Ni3DR is -100??C ~100??C, its thickness range is 5mm~80mm; while the use temperature range of 06Ni9DR is -196??C ~100??C, its thickness range is 5mm~40mm.

3 Information Required for Ordering
As required, the user is required to provide the following information sufficient to indicate the required materials when ordering:
a) Standard number;
b) Grade;
c) Specification and edge status;
d) Weight;
e) Others (such as particular requirements, etc.).
4 Dimension, Shape, Weight and Permissible Deviation
4.1 The permissible deviation for the thickness of steel plate shall meet the 5.3.2 With the consent of the purchaser, the 08Ni3DR steel plate with thickness greater than 60mm can be delivered by normalizing, then accelerated cooling and tempering (indicated by symbols ?€?NT?€?); thereof, the tempering temperature shall be no lower than 600??C.
5.3.3 06Ni9DR steel plate is delivered in state of quenching and tempering (indicated by symbols ?€?QT?€?). For the steel plate with thickness no greater than 12mm, twice normalizing plus tempering (indicated by symbols ?€?NNT?€?) is allowed. Thereof, tempering temperature shall be no lower than 540??C.
5.3.4 As required, allow the supplier to perform re-heat treatment; the number of quenching or normalizing for re-heat treatment shall be no more than twice; the number of tempering is not limited.
5.3.5 Normally, the edge state of the steel plate is delivered by shearing or flame cutting. 5.4 Mechanical and process properties
5.4.1 The mechanical and process properties of steel plate shall conform to the provisions of Table 2.
5.4.2 Impact absorption energy is the average value of the test results for three specimens in one group; allowing the test result of one of the specimens to be less than the specified value; but no less than 70% of the specified value.
5.4.3 For the steel plate with thickness less than 12mm, the Charpy impact test shall adopt the auxiliary specimen. For the steel plate with thickness >8mm~< 12mm, the dimension of the auxiliary specimen is 7.5mm??10mm??55mm; its test result shall be no less than 75% of the specified value in Table 2. For the steel plate with thickness 6mm~8mm, the dimension of the auxiliary specimen is 5mm??10mm??55mm; its test result shall be no less than 50% of the specified value in Table 2. For the steel plate with thickness 5mm~< 6mm, the dimension of the auxiliary specimen is
2.5mm??10mm??55mm; its test result shall be no less than 25% specified value in Table 2.
5.4.4 After the bending test, the outer surface of the specimen shall be free of the visible cracks.
