This Part mainly defines the electronic cash dual-currency payment application card
contents, specifically includes card data elements, security mechanisms and relevant
business processes.
This Part aims to define the dual-currency electronic cash function, realization
technology and application examples.

1 Scope
This Part describes how to realize the relevant information of electronic cash dual-
currency payment function (hereinafter referred to as dual-currency electronic cash)
on the PBOC debit/credit card. In addition, it also provides the overview of each
component of dual-currency electronic cash payment different from the single-currency
electronic cash function, including application procedure, terminal function, etc.
This Part is applicable to the dual-currency electronic cash IC card based on financial
debit/credit regulations issued or accepted by bank. The use objects mainly include
card design, manufacture, management, issuance, acceptance relevant to the
financial debit/credit IC card; as well as the relevant manufacture, R and D, integration
and maintenance departments (organizations) of the application system.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1 Application
The application protocol and relevant data between card and terminal.
3.2 Command
The terminal issues a message towards the IC card; such message starts an operation
or requests a response.
3.3 Dual currency electronic cash
Set two kinds of currency codes into the card; the first currency and the second
currency; the transaction shall be performed through matching currency codes with
terminal.
3.4 Electronic cash (EC)
Achieve the micro-payment function based on the debit/credit application.
3.5 Electronic cash (EC) [Translator Note. here it should be Standard Electronic
Cash (SEC)]
The same definition as the electronic cash; mainly used for distinguishing the electronic
cash transition of the second currency.
3.6 Electronic cash balance
A counter that represents the amount on the card that can be consumed offline.
3.7 Electronic cash funds limit
Card data represents the maximum amount that the card holder can consume offline.
3.8 EC secondary
The card selects the relevant data element of the second currency.
3.9 First currency
The currency type identified by the Application Currency Code (Tag “9F51”).
3.10 Payment system environment
When the payment system application conforming to JR/T 0025 is selected, the logical
condition set established in IC card.
3.11 quick PBOC (qPBOC)
The quick debit/credit application; this part is used for distinguishing the second
currency electronic cash transaction based on qPBOC.
