Foreword
JB/T 1647 Straight-side Mechanical Power Press is divided into 2 parts.
— Part 1. Parameters;
— Part 2. Technical requirements.
This Part is Part 2 of JB/T 1647.
This Part is drafted according to the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Part replaces JB/T 9964-1999 Straight-side Mechanical Power Press - Part 2. Technical
Requirements. Compared with the JB/T 9964-1999, the main technical changes are as follows.
— The standard name was changed to Straight-side Mechanical Power Press - Part 2. Technical
Requirements;
— The standard structure has been reorganized;
— The use range of power-press has been clarified;
— Chapters of terms and definitions, and classification naming have been added;
— The test requirements for variable speed power-press has been added in the running test;
— While conducting single stroke test, the clutch and brake’s joint times per minute have been
adjusted;
— The overload test is performed according to 110% of the nominal force instead of 120% of the
nominal force;
— The allowable deflections of dual- and four-points power-press’s slide and table have been
modified;
— The test records of main motor’s voltage, current and temperature, when it is running with
continuous stroke and single stroke, have been added;
— The requirements for the appearance and quality of the power-press have been improved;
— The measurement method of stiffness in Appendix A has been modified;
— The measurement method of total clearance in Appendix B is changed to be the test record in
Appendix B.
This Part was proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation.
This Part shall be centralized by National Committee on Forge Press of Standardization Administration
of China (SAC/TC220).

Part 2. Technical requirements
1 Scope
This Part of JB/T 1647 specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging,
labeling, and transport of the straight-side power-press.
This Part applies to straight-side single-, dual-, four-point mechanical power presses. It also applies to
straight-side single, double, four-point trimming power-presses (hereinafter referred to as the
power-press).
This Part does not apply to hot forging power-presses, closed high-speed power-presses, and other
special power-presses.
