Foreword
This Standard was formulated according to ?€?Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases?€?.
Clause 4 ~ Clause 7, Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C are mandatory; the rest are recommended.
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Standard replaces GBZ 130-2002 ?€?Standards for radiological protection in medical X-ray diagnosis?€? and GBZ 138-2002 ?€?Specification for radiological protection monitoring in medical X-ray diagnosis?€?. This Standard takes GBZ 130-2002 as the main reference and integrates the contents of GBZ 138-2002. Comparing with GBZ 130-2002, except editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
- Delete contents related to the production of medical X-ray equipment, category restriction of which X-ray equipment is not applicable to,
periodic leak detection of X-ray radiation source assembly, as well as the requirements for diagnosis deck and filtration thickness of
mammography support platform;
- Add permissible minimum first half-value layer of CT scanner and
interventional X-ray equipment; requirements for voltage indication
deviation and exposure time indication deviation of dental machine tube; test plane dose rate control value in fluoroscopic protection zone during near-station same-room operation (uncommon screen fluoroscopy) and
control value for level dose rate of external radiation dose shielded by machine room; requirements for interventional radiology equipment
configuration and recording device of patient radiation dose; protection and detection methods of machine room; and Appendix D;
- Modify and add requirements for shielding thickness of machine room
and usage area of machine room; add requirements for unilateral length
of machine room; and modify the size of water tank?€?s scattering standard water mold;
- Rewrite the protection and surveillance requirements for X-ray diagnostic equipment and premises in GBZ 130-2002 in Clause 7; inspection
methods are rewritten in Appendix B.

Requirements for radiological protection in
medical X-ray diagnosis
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the protective performance of equipment for medical diagnostic radiology, dental radiology and interventional radiology; protective equipment of machine room; requirements for general protective safety of X- ray diagnostic procedures; and its related inspection requirements.
This Standard is applicable to the practice of medical diagnostic radiology, dental radiology and interventional radiology.

3 General principles
3.1 During the practice of medical diagnostic radiology, dental radiology and interventional radiology, it shall ensure the radiological protection safety and health of radiation staffs, patients, subjects and the public according to the provisions in GB 18871, GB 16348 and GBZ 179.
3.2 The inspection of X-ray application shall pass justification judgment. Practicing physicians shall master the indication; a non-X-ray inspection method is preferred. Strengthen the legitimacy judgment of X-ray inspection for women of childbearing age, pregnant women and infants. Strictly control the use of larger doses, higher-risk radiation technology. CT shall not be used in health examination unless there is clear indication of disease risk. X-ray inspection shall not be conducted if it does not comply with the principle of legitimacy.
3.3 Comply with the principle of optimization of protection. Ensure the doses as low as possible for patients and subjects when the diagnostic information is adequate.
3.4 Restrict the occupational exposure on staffs according to the provisions on dose limit for occupational exposure in GB 18871. Medical examination for patients and subjects shall take medical radiation guidance levels as
radiological protection guidelines; avoid any unnecessary exposure. For necessary medical X-ray diagnostic inspection with good reason, it shall obtain the required diagnostic information and control the radiation doses for patients and subjects as reasonably low as possible at the same time.
3.5 All kinds of X-ray inspection equipment shall be used accordingly. Besides the requirements of this Standard, the application of such equipment shall also comply with other relevant radiological protection standards for X-ray
equipment. All kinds of X-ray equipment and premises shall be used only after they are inspected as qualified by organizations with qualification of radiation hygiene technology services.
4 Technical requirements for protective performance
of X-ray equipment
4.1 General requirements for protective performance of X-ray equipment
4.1.1 The first half-value layer of X-ray beam of all kinds of X-ray equipment shall comply with the provisions in Appendix A.
4.1.2 In addition to Mammographic X-ray equipment, the equivalent filtration of X-ray beam shielding parts in X-ray source assembly shall comply with the following provisions.
a) Dismountable filtration parts during normal use shall not be less than 0.5 mmAl.
b) Total filtration of filter (mountable by tools) and inherent filtration (dismountable) shall not be less than 1.5 mmAl.
4.1.3 Except Dental X-ray fluoroscopy and mammography, the equivalent total filtration formed by the substance in X-ray beam for patients shall not be less than 2.5 mmAl. For dental X-ray equipment of which the nominal X-ray tube voltage is not greater than 70 kV, its total filtration shall not be less than 1.5 mmAl. For special Mammographic X-ray equipment of which the nominal X-ray tube voltage is not greater than 50 kV, its filtration shall not be less than 0.03 mmMo.
4.2 Special requirements for protective performance of X-ray equipment
for fluoroscopy
4.2.1 Focus-skin distance of X-ray equipment for fluoroscopy shall not be less than 30 cm.
4.2.2 Fluoroscopy exposure switch shall be normally-off switch equipped with fluoroscopic timer.
4.2.3 According to B.1 requirements in Appendix B for ordinary fluoroscopy operated in the same-room, air kerma rate on the measurement plane of
orthostatic and supine fluoroscopic protection zones shall not exceed 50 ??Gy/h and 150 ??Gy/h respectively (according to requirements in Figure C.1 and Figure C.2 of Appendix C).
4.2.4 Air kerma rate on patient?€?s incident plane of X-ray equipment for fluoroscopy, screen sensitivity, radiation field size of fluoroscopy as well as center alignment shall comply with the provisions in WS 76.
