This standard replaces GB/T 8885-1988 "edible corn starch."
The main difference compared with the standard GB/T 8885-1988 as follows.
--- According to food safety and hygiene requirements and international practice, increasing the microbiological criteria;
--- Increased inspection rules;
--- Sensory requirements revised. the appearance and odor, taste and impurities cancel two;
--- Color, whiteness no longer by white corn, yellow corn value;
--- Unified revised each grade water to no more than 14.0%;
--- Acidity amended as follows. superior grade of no more than 1.50 ° T, a product of not more than 1.80 ° T, the two products does not exceed 2.00 ° T;
--- Ash amended as follows. the two products does not exceed 0.18%;
--- Protein amended as follows. superior grade of no more than 0.35%, a product of not more than 0.45%, the two products does not exceed 0.60%;
--- Spot amended as follows. a product is not more than 0.7/cm2, the two products is not more than 1.0/cm2;
--- Fineness amended as follows. superior grade of not less than 99.5%, a product of not less than 99.0%, the two products is not less than 98.5%;
--- Fat amended as follows. superior grade of no more than 0.10%, a product of not more than 0.15%, the two products does not exceed 0.20%;

1 Scope
This standard specifies the consumption of corn starch requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labels, signs, packaging, transportation and storage requirements.
This standard applies to corn (raw materials shall comply with the food standards) and the production of edible starch.

5 Inspection Rules
5.1 Batch and sampling
5.1.1 Batch
The same batch of raw materials, production of the same date, the same production line of the same species, packaging intact, the same batch as a set of product specifications.
