Scope

1.1 The collected samples shall be representative. Generally, the corresponding number
of packaging units are randomly selected depending on the size of each batch of
cosmetics. During the inspection, totally 10 g or 10 ml shall be taken from samples
from more than two packaging units. The sample size can be reduced as appropriate for
samples with small packaging volume.
1.2 The samples for inspection shall strictly maintain the original packaging state. The
container shall not be broken and shall not be opened before inspection, to prevent re-
contamination.
1.3 After receiving the sample, it shall be registered and numbered immediately; the
inspection shall be carried out as soon as possible according to the inspection
requirements. If it cannot be inspected in time, the sample shall be placed in a cool and
dry place at room temperature; it shall not be refrigerated or frozen.
1.4 If there is only one sample and multiple analyses are required at the same time, such
as bacteria, toxicology, chemistry, etc., it should take out part of the sample for bacteria
inspection first; then the remaining sample is used for other analyses.
1.5 During the inspection process, from opening to the end of all inspection operations,
re-contamination and spread of microorganisms must be prevented. All utensils and
materials used shall be sterilized in advance; all operations shall be carried out in a
sterile room. Or under appropriate conditions, it is carried out according to the aseptic
operation requirements.
1.6 If fecal coliform bacteria or other pathogenic bacteria are detected, the strains and
samples shall be kept for one month from the date of the report, for future reference.
