Foreword
GB/T 7568 is divided into seven parts:
---Specification for Wool Adjacent Fabric;
---Specification for Cotton and Viscose Adjacent Fabric;
---Specification for Polyamide Adjacent Fabric;
---Specification for Polyester Adjacent Fabric;
---Specification for Acrylic Adjacent Fabric;
---Specification for Silk Adjacent Fabric;
---Specification for Multifiber Adjacent Fabric.
This is the 6th part of GB/T 7568. The modification of this Part adopts ISO 105-F06: 2000 Textiles - Tests for Color Fastness - Part F06: Specification for Silk Adjacent Fabric (English version).
This Part serves as a replacement of GB 7568-1987 Textiles - Tests for Color Fastness - Specification for Standard Adjacent Fabric: Silk. Due to the development in the world, the previous standard is already technically obsolete.
This Part was re-drafted in accordance with ISO 105-F06: 2000.
In consideration of the national conditions of China, this Part makes certain adjustments while adopting the international standard. Relevant technical differences have been included in the main body and marked through vertical single lines in the margin of the involved clauses. Appendix A provides a table of these technical differences and their causes, so as to serve as a reference.
In order to make it convenient to be used, this Standard also makes the following editorial modifications:
a) The phrase ?€?this part of ISO?€? is modified into ?€?this Part?€?;
b) Decimal point ?€?.?€? is used to replace comma ?€?,?€?, which acts as decimal point; c) The foreword of the international standard is deleted.
In comparison with GB 7568-1987, this Part has the following main changes: ---Mass per unit area is modified into (60 ?? 3) g/m2;
Textiles - Tests for Color Fastness -

5 Assessment of Staining Properties of Silk Adjacent
Fabric to be Tested
5.1 General Rules
In color fastness test, adjacent fabric is of great importance. Hence, the most important property is standardized staining property. When silk stained reference fabric (3.3) and cotton stained reference fabric (3.4) are used in the test, silk adjacent fabric to be tested shall have the same staining property as the silk reference adjacent fabric. 5.2 Test Methods
Place a piece of silk stained reference fabric (3.3) between a piece of silk adjacent fabric to be tested (3.1) and a piece of silk reference adjacent fabric (3.2). In order to eliminate the differences that might be generated in test conditions, the silk reference adjacent fabric and the silk adjacent fabric to be tested shall be applied to the same composite specimen. Conduct test on the composite specimen in accordance with the stipulations in GB/T 5713.
Use cotton stained reference fabric (3.4) to replace silk stained reference fabric (3.3); repeat the above-mentioned test.
5.3 Staining Properties
In terms of the two groups of samples which receive the test in accordance with the stipulations in 5.2, use gray scale for assessing change in color to assess the stained silk adjacent fabric to be tested and the stained silk reference adjacent fabric. The color difference between them shall be not greater than Grade 4 - Grade 5.
for 1 h. The processing bath includes (in terms of the mass of fabric): Non-ionic detergent (ethylene oxide poly-condensate): 6%
Sodium silicate: 2%
Sodium hydrosulfite: 1.2%
Bath ratio: 30:1;
In lukewarm water at 35 ??C, scour for three times, dehydrate and dry it. B.1.3.4 In the end, conduct calendering of the fabric in accordance with the following methods
First calendering: conduct calendering twice on the double calender of light; Second calendering: conduct calendering once on felt calender.
After the sorting, the fabric shall reach the requirements in 5.3.
B.2 Production of Stained Reference Fabric
B.2.1 Silk stained reference fabric
Place a piece of wetted silk adjacent fabric into 40 ??C staining bath; bath ratio shall be 50:1. It shall include C.I. Acid Blue 59 (Color Index, Version 3) and 0.25% anhydrous sodium sulfate, which shall both be counted by the mass of fabric.
Within 15 min, raise the temperature of the staining bath to 90 ??C; continue the staining for 30 min. Then, let go of the staining bath; use flowing cold water to rinse the stained matter, till the water manifests absolutely no color. Then, dry the stained matter. B.2.2 Cotton stained reference fabric
Place a piece of wetted cotton adjacent fabric into 40 ??C staining bath; bath ratio shall be 50:1. It shall include C.I. Direct Red 79 (Color Index, Version 3) and 20% anhydrous sodium sulfate, which shall both be counted by the mass of fabric.
Within 20 min, raise the temperature of the staining bath to 90 ??C; continue the staining for 60 min. Then, let go of the staining bath; use flowing cold water to rinse the stained matter, till the water manifests absolutely no color. Then, dry the stained matter. B.2.3 Chapter 5 of this Part may also adopt the test method (see GB 11404-1989, Appendix A) in GB 11404-1989 Textiles - Tests for Color Fastness - Specification for Standard Adjacent Fabric: Multifiber2.
2 This Standard will be amended and re-numbered into GB/T 7568.7.
