Aluminum and aluminum alloys cold drawn (rolled) tubes
1 Scope
This document specifies the category, quality assurance, technical requirements, test
methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, storage, quality
certificates and purchase orders (or contracts) of aluminum and aluminum alloy drawn
(rolled) tubes.
This document applies to aluminum and aluminum alloy drawn (rolled) seamless tubes
and seamed tubes (hereinafter referred to as "tubes").
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated
documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document;
for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is
applicable to this standard.

after the compression test. If the purchaser has compression performance requirements
for other alloys, it shall be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the
purchaser, meanwhile it shall be specified in the order form (or contract).
6.6 Flattening test
There shall be no cracks on the surface of 5B02 alloy and 5A02 alloy's O status tubes
for aviation use, after the flattening test. If the buyer has flattening performance
requirements for other alloys, it shall be determined through negotiation between the
supplier and the buyer, AND specified in the order (or contract).
6.7 Bending test
After the bending test of 5B02 alloy tubes for aviation, there shall be no cracks on the
surface. If the buyer has flattening performance requirements for other alloys, it shall
be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, AND specified
in the order (or contract).
6.8 Air tightness
When the buyer has airtight requirements for the seamed tube, it shall be determined
through negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, AND indicated in the order
form (or contract).
6.9 Microstructure
The microstructure of the quenched tube shall not have over-burning.
6.10 Macrostructure
The surface grain size of 3A21 aluminum alloy tubes for aviation shall be better than
the second grade in GB/T 3246.2. If the purchaser has macrostructure requirements for
other alloys, it shall be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the
purchaser AND specified in the order form (or contract).
6.11 Solderability
Seamed tubes shall not have poor welding.
6.12 Salt spray corrosion resistance
6.12.1 The salt spray corrosion resistance grade of aluminum alloy tubes for
automobiles shall comply with the requirements in Table 4. The salt spray corrosion
resistance grade shall be specified in the order form (or contract); grade I shall be used
if not specified.
6.12.2 After the test according to the test duration specified in Table 4, the tube shall
have no leakage. When the buyer has requirements on the micro-corrosion appearance,
outer surfaces of the tube shall be smooth and clean.
6.15.2 There shall be no defects such as blisters, peeling, cracks, corrosion, inner
surface waves on the surface of tubes.
6.15.3 The outer surface of the tube is allowed to have defects such as scratches,
damages, bumps and other defects, whose depth does not exceed the negative deviation
of the wall thickness.
6.15.4 Water marks and straightening marks, that do not affect the wall thickness, are
allowed on the surface of the tube.
7 Test method
7.1 Chemical composition
7.1.1 The chemical composition analysis method shall comply with the provisions of
GB/T 20975 (all parts) or GB/T 7999. The arbitration analysis method shall adopt the
method specified in GB/T 20975 (all parts).
7.1.2 The calculation of "Al" content shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 3190.
When calculating the "Al" content, the sum -- of the analytical values of conventionally
analyzed elements and unconventional analyzed elements suspected to be excessive --
is taken as the "sum of element content".
7.1.3 The rounding off comparison method is used to determine the analytical value.
The numerical rounding off rules are carried out, in accordance with the relevant
provisions of GB/T 8170. The rounding off digits shall be consistent with the limit digits,
which are specified in GB/T 3190.
7.2 Dimensional deviation
The measurement method of dimensional deviation shall be carried out, according to
the provisions of GB/T 4436-2012.
7.3 Mechanical properties
The tensile mechanical property test at room temperature shall be carried out, according
to the provisions of GB/T 16865.
7.4 Flaring test
7.4.1 5B02 and 5A02 alloy O status seamless tubes for aviation
The test shall be carried out, according to the provisions of GB/T 242; the flare shall
have a flare taper of 74°; the length of the specimen shall be 1.5 times the outer diameter,
BUT not less than 50 mm; the flare dimensions shall comply with the provisions in
Visual inspection is used for the appearance quality. When the depth of the defect cannot
be determined, the grinding method can be used for measurement. For tubes which have
an inner diameter of 12 mm ~ 50 mm, the inner surface can be inspected with an
endoscope.
8 Inspection rules
8.1 Inspection and acceptance
8.1.1 The tubes shall be inspected by the technical supervision department of the
supplier, to ensure that the product quality complies with the provisions of this
document and the purchase order (or contract); meanwhile it shall fill in the quality
certificate.
8.1.2 The purchaser shall inspect the received product, according to the provisions of
this document. If the inspection result is inconsistent with the provisions of this
document and the purchase order (or contract), it shall submit it to the supplier in
writing; the supplier and the purchaser shall negotiate to resolve it. Disputes relat...
