Scope

This Standard applies to the thread forming screws of metric coarse thread series and
thread specification M2 to M12.
The screw thread shanks for thread forming screw have threads of arc-shaped
triangular cross section, as shown in Figure 1. The screw is hardened on the surface;
it can be screwed in the pre-drilled holes (made by drilling, punching or pressure
casting) of ferrous or nonferrous metals; and it forms internal thread by tapping.
The thread forming screw shall be possessed of low screwing-in torque and high
locking performance.
