Foreword
GB/T 6403 is divided into five parts.
GB/T 6403.1 Radii of sphere surfaces;
GB/T 6403.2 Lubricating grooves;
GB/T 6403.3 Knurl;
GB/T 6403.4 Rounding and chamfer of parts;
- GB/T 6403.5 Relief grooves for grinding wheels. This part is the part 3 of GB/T 6403. This part is a revision of GB/T 6403.3-1986 “Knurl”. The main differences between this part and GB/T 6403.3-1986 are as follows.
-MAKE editorial changes in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 1.12000;
ADD the foreword to the standard;
ADD the scope of application of the standard;
ADD the standard technical requirements.
This part was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Machinery Shaft and Accessories Standardization Technical Committee.

Knurl
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 6403 specifies the general-purpose cylindrical surface knurling type and size.
This part applies to cylindrical knurling for general purposes.
2 Knurl pattern
The pattern of knurl is shown in Figure 1.

3 Knurl shape
The shape of the knurl pattern is a vertical section of the pattern assuming that the working diameter is infinite, as shown in Figure 2.
