Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the apparent overall density and the
apparent core density of cellular plastics and rubbers.
If the material to be tested includes skins formed during a molding/extrusion, the apparent
overall density or the apparent core density, or both, can be determined.
If the material does not have skins formed during molding, the term "overall density" is not
applicable.
For shaped materials, a different method such as buoyancy method may be used.

Summary	This standard specifies test methods for the determination of apparent total density foam and rubber and apparent core density. The apparent when the skin material molded or extruded free foam or the total density, apparent core density of the standard tests are available. The term "apparent overall density" does not apply to the molding material is not formed in the epidermis. For irregularly shaped products should be used as buoyancy method and other methods of measurement.
