Copper and copper alloy foil
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and marking, technical requirements,
test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and
accompanying documents and order forms of copper and copper alloy foil.
This document applies to copper and copper alloy rolled foils (hereinafter
referred to as foils) for the electronics, instrumentation and other industrial
sectors.
2 Normative references
The following documents are normatively referenced in this document and are
indispensable for its application. For dated references, only the version
corresponding to that date is applicable to this document; for undated
references, the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this
document.

The tensile test method of foil is carried out in accordance with the provisions
of GB/T 34505-2017; the sample numbers are P01 and P4 in Table 3 of GB/T
34505-2017.
The Vickers hardness test of foil is carried out in accordance with the provisions
of GB/T 4340.1.
6.4 Surface quality
The appearance quality of foil shall be measured and inspected visually or with
measuring tools of corresponding precision.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Inspection and acceptance
7.1.1 The product shall be inspected by the supplier or a third party, to ensure
that the product quality meets the requirements of this document and the
purchase order.
7.1.2 The buyer can inspect the received products in accordance with the
provisions of this document. If the inspection result does not conform to the
provisions of this document and the purchase order, it shall be submitted to the
supplier in written form, and the supplier and the buyer shall negotiate and
resolve. Objections of appearance quality and dimensions shall be filed within
1 month from the date of receipt of the product; objections of other
performances shall be filed within 3 months from the date of receipt of the
product. If arbitration is required, it shall be determined through joint sampling
at the buyer’s side, or negotiated by both the supplier and the buyer.
7.2 Batch
Foils shall be submitted for acceptance in batches. Each batch shall consist of
foils of the same designation, status and specifications. The weight of each
batch shall not be more than 5 000 kg.
7.3 Inspection items
7.3.1 Types of inspection items
The inspection items of foil are divided into delivery inspection items and type
inspection items. See Table 5.
7.3.2 Delivery inspection
Each batch of foils shall be inspected for chemical composition, dimensions and
allowable deviation, mechanical properties (hardness test or tensile test) and
surface quality.
The buyer can select one from the tensile test and the hardness test. If there is
no special instructions, the hardness test shall be carried out. When the buyer
selects the hardness test and also requires a tensile test, which is specified in
the order form, the tensile test shall also be carried out; but the tensile test
results are for reference only. When the buyer selects the tensile test and also
requires the hardness test, which is specified in the order form, the hardness
test shall also be carried out; but the hardness test results are for reference only.
7.3.3 Type inspection
In any of the following situations, the type inspection shall be carried out:
a) Trial formulation appraisal of new products or old products which are
transferred to another factory;
b) When there are major changes in the raw materials and processes of the
product, which may affect the performance of the product;
c) When the product is put back on production after a time of suspension;
d) When the delivery inspection result is significantly different from the
previous type inspection;
e) When the type inspection has not been carried out for 2 consecutive years;
f) When it is requested by the buyer, which is specified in the order form;
g) When the national quality supervision institutions propose a requirement
to carry out type inspection.
7.4 Sampling
The marking, packaging, transportation and storage of the product shall comply
with the regulations of GB/T 8888.
8.2 Accompanying documents
Each batch of products shall be accompanied by accompanying documents,
which shall include supplier information, product information, number of this
document, date of manufacture or packaging date, and should also include:
a) Product quality assurance certificate, the content is as follows:
· Main performance and technical parameters of the product;
· Product features (including the features of manufacturing process and
raw materials);
· Responsibility for product quality;
· Quality certification obtained by the product, and various analysis and
inspection results checked and printed by the technical supervision
department of the supplier.
b) Product qualification, the content is as follows:
· Inspection items and their results or inspection conclusions;
· Batch or batch number;
· Inspection date;
· Inspector's signature or seal;
c) Inspection report and finished product inspection report during product
quality control;
d) Product instructions: correct handling, use, and storage methods;
e) Others.
