Foreword
GB/T 5008 "Lead-acid starter batteries" is divided into three parts.
-- Part 1.Lead-acid starter batteries-technical conditions;
-- Part 2.Lead-acid starter batteries-Kinds of products and specifications;
-- Part 3.Lead-acid starter batteries-Dimension and marking of terminals.
This Part is the Part 3 of GB/T 5008.
Compared with GB/T 5008.3-1991, the main changes of this Part are as follows.
-- The application scope was changed.
This Part shall replace GB/T 5008.3-1991 from the implementation date.
This part was proposed by China Electrical Equipment Industry Association.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on
Lead-acid Batteries of Standardization Administration of China.
Shenyang Storage Battery Research Institute is responsible for the drafting of this
Standard.

Lead-acid Starter Batteries - Dimension and Marking of
Terminals
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 5008 specifies the dimension and marking of the positive and negative
terminals of the lead-acid starting battery.
This Part is applicable to the exhaust (flooded) type lead-acid batteries (hereinafter referred to
as batteries) and valve-regulated batteries (with gas recombination function) with 12V rated
voltage and used for starting, ignition and illumination of various automobiles, tractor and
other internal-combustion engines.
This Part is not applicable to batteries used for other purpose, for example starter batteries for
railway internal-combustion engines.
2 Terminal Dimension
2.1 The dimension of conical terminal is detailed in Table 1 and Figure 1.
