Guidelines for green exhibition operation
1 Scope
This document provides guidance on the entire process of green exhibition operations,
clarifies basic principles, and provides stakeholders of the exhibition with guidance and
measures for green operations at different stages of the entire exhibition process.
This document applies to the operation of green exhibitions.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain the provisions which, through normative reference in
this document, constitute the essential provisions of this document. For the dated
referenced documents, only the versions with the indicated dates are applicable to this
document; for the undated referenced documents, only the latest version (including all
the amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
Terms and definitions defined in GB/T 26165-2021 and the following apply to this
document.
3.1 stakeholders of the exhibition
Relevant individuals or organizations involved in the entire exhibition process of
preparation, move-in, on-display, move-out, summary, etc.
NOTE: Exhibition-related parties include but are not limited to the organizer (co-organizer), exhibitors,
exhibition venue operators, exhibition service providers, etc.
3.2 operation of green exhibition
Relevant parties in the exhibition collaborate with each other to implement the principle
of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle throughout the entire exhibition process, giving priority
to elements such as environmentally friendly design, technology, processes, equipment,
facilities, materials, and venues to achieve sustainable development of the exhibition.
4 Basic principles
4.1 Principles of environmental protection
It is crucial that the entire exhibition implementation process follows the 3R principle
of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle:
a) Reduce: Use fewer resources to achieve exhibition functions;
b) Reuse: The materials used can be used repeatedly in their original form or after
repair and renovation;
c) Recycle: The resources used can be recycled and reused economically.
4.2 Forward-looking principle
Stakeholders of the exhibition should assess the situation, pay attention to
developments and changes, and plan scientifically and systematically. The following
measures are crucial:
a) Stakeholders should assume social responsibility, pay attention to, implement,
and jointly promote the concept of green development of exhibitions and
national requirements for sustainable development, such as carbon emissions,
plastic ban, etc.;
b) It is advisable to pay attention to the development of science and technology,
and promote the green development of exhibitions through the introduction of
scientific and technological means, environmental protection and energy-
saving measures, online and offline technical means, etc.;
c) Incentive measures can be taken appropriately to encourage the
implementation of measures for the operation of green exhibitions. It is
advisable to carry out green exhibition stand evaluation in accordance with
GB/T 41129-2021 and explore the implementation path of carbon peaking and
carbon neutrality for exhibitions;
d) It is advisable to cooperate, pay attention to and control the friendliness of the
working environment, provide protective devices and equipment, and ensure
including but not limited to domestic waste, solid waste, hazardous waste, etc.
5.3.4 It is appropriate to promote the green concept of exhibitions and demonstrate the
results of green exhibition operations during the exhibition through some channels or
forms.
5.3.5 Green-themed exhibition selection and exchange activities can be held during the
exhibition, with themes including but not limited to green exhibitions, green materials,
green transportation, etc.
5.4 Move-out stage
5.4.1 It is appropriate to standardize and supervise the operating procedures of
exhibitors, exhibition construction project enterprises, waste disposal companies, and
other stakeholders of the exhibition involved in the move-out of the exhibition, so that
they comply with green environmental protection requirements.
5.4.2 It is advisable to implement green booth evaluation in accordance with GB/T
41129-2021, focusing on monitoring the recycling of professional exhibition equipment
and the recycling and disposal of solid waste.
5.5 Summary stage
5.5.1 It is appropriate to evaluate and summarize the experience and shortcomings of
the green implementation of the exhibition according to the PDCA principle (referring
to Plan, Do, Check, and Action), formulate improvement measures, and form a report.
Improvement measures should be included in the green exhibition operation plan for
the next cycle of exhibitions.
5.5.2 It is appropriate to analyze the green operation of this exhibition based on the data
of the entire exhibition process and the evaluation indicators determined in the plan.
The indicators such as green booth popularizing rate, air environment data, and waste
disposal volume shall be analyzed emphatically with reference to GB/T 41129-2021.
5.5.3 Post-exhibition reports should be sent in an information-based manner.
5.5.4 Customer relationship maintenance should be carried out through video
conferencing.

choose accommodation that has obtained green-related certifications and is close to the
public transportation system.
