Scope

This Standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, inspection, testing,
inspection rules and acceptance of non-steel wire rope suspension means for lifts.
This Standard applies to non-steel wire rope suspension means for traction drive lifts,
in which steel wire ropes or non-metallic materials are used as load-bearing members.
For non-steel wire rope suspension means of other new materials or structures, this
Standard may be referred to for implementation. The parts not applicable shall be
determined by negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser.
