This Part of GB/T 3903 identically adopts the International Standard ISO
22774.2004 Footwear - Test methods for accessories. shoe laces - Abrasion
resistance (English version).
For easy use, this Part makes the following editorial modifications.
a) modified “this International Standard” to “this Part”;
b) used decimal point “.” to replace “,” which was used as decimal point;
c) deleted the foreword of ISO 22774.2004;
d) deleted the table of contents of ISO 22774.2004;
e) directly used a national standard as reference which is corresponding to
the International standard that was used as reference in ISO 22774.2004;
f) deleted the appendix of ISO 22774.2004.
This Part was proposed by China Light Industry Association.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on
Footwear of Standardization Administration of China.

1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 3903 specifies three test methods for determining the
abrasion resistance of a shoe lace to repeated rubbing.
- Method 1. lace to lace abrasion;
- Method 2. face to standard eyelet abrasion;
- Method 3. lace to eyelet (from footwear) abrasion.
This Part is applicable to shoe laces irrespective of material.
