Foreword
This Part of GB/T 3903 identically adopts the International Standard ISO 19958.2004
“Footwear - Test methods for heels and top pieces - Top piece retention strength”
(English version), and shares the same technical content, only the following editorial
modifications are made.
a) “this European Standard” is modified into “this Part of GB/T 3903”;
b) DELETE the foreword of the International Standard;
c) DELETE the table of content of the International Standard;
d) for the International standards referenced in ISO 19958.2004, this Part directly
reference the corresponding national standards;
e) “the requirements of EN 7500-1 class 2” in 4.1 is modified into “the requirements
of GB/T 16825.1-2002 class 2”;
This Part was proposed by China Light Industry Council.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Footwear
of Standardization Administration of China.

Top piece retention strength
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 3903 specifies a test method for measuring the force required to
detach the top piece from the underside of the shoe heel.
This Part is applicable to heels with the top piece already attached which have been
removed from complete shoes, to heels alone with the top piece attached and, in some
instances, to heels with separate push-in top pieces.
This Part is inapplicable to reinforced slender heels with top pieces attached by steel
spigots and built stacked heels.

reference in this Part of GB/T 3903. For dated references, the subsequent
amendments (excluding corrigendum) or revisions do not apply to this Part, however,
parties who reach an agreement based on this Part are encouraged to study if the

edition of the referenced document applies.
