1 Scope
This Standard specifies the test methods for abrasion resistance of whole shoe soles and soles (materials).
This Standard is applicable to whole shoes and soles (materials).
This Standard is not applicable to the natural leather outsoles and rubber soles. 2 Principle
Vertically PRESS the rotating abrasive wheel against the test piece. PERFORM the abrasion test on the test piece under specific conditions. MEASURE the length of abrasion mark on the test piece to indicate the abrasion resistance of the test piece.
3 Equipment and materials
3.1 Abrasion resistance tester
3.1.1 USE T12 steel abrasive wheel in size of ?? (20 ?? 0.1) mm ?? (4 ?? 0.1) mm, with a bore diameter of (6 ?? 0.02) mm and 72 teeth. The tooth angle is 90?? ?? 5??. The tooth tip is (0.2 ?? 0.05) mm in width. The tooth tip roughness, Ra, is (3.2 ?? 0.1) ??m. The hardness is greater than or equal to 55HRC. The coaxiality is 0.03mm. The laboratory shall set a reasonable calibration period based on the frequency of use of the equipment. USE the standard samples for abrasion resistance of soles or other methods to test the abrasive wheel. In addition, REPLACE the abrasive wheel timely.
NOTE. At present, the following standard samples are available on the market. GSB 16-3352 standard samples for abrasion resistance of soles. The standard value of the abrasion mark length is (8.7 ?? 0.5) mm.
3.1.2 The speed of the abrasive wheel is adjustable within the range of 100r/min to 300r/min. After clockwise rotation, the abrasive wheel runs smoothly. Radial runout is not greater than 0.05mm.
3.1.3 The position of the abrasive wheel can be adjusted to apply a pressure 6.3 The test pieces shall be placed at room temperature for at least 4h. 6.4 CONDITION each part of the tester. Before each test, IDLE the abrasive wheel for 5min.
6.5 FIX the test pieces on the abrasion resistance tester, with the sole facing upwards. ADJUST the abrasion part of the sole to level.
6.6 CONDITION the position of the abrasive wheel to align it with the abrasion part.
6.7 ADJUST the pressure that is applied to the test pieces by the abrasive wheel to the specified value.
6.8 ADJUST the test time or total number of revolutions to the specified value. 6.9 ADJUST the speed of the abrasive wheel to the specified value. RESET the time display. START the test afterwards.
6.10 After the tester is automatically shut down according to the set
parameters, USE a Vernier caliper to measure the length of each side of the abrasion mark within 1h.
6.11 During the test, if the abrasive wheel rod presses against the test piece, STOP the test. RECORD the test time and the length of abrasion mark.
6.12 During the test, if it is found out that the abrasion part is sticky or sticks to the abrasive wheel, STOP the test immediately. USE organic solvents to clean the contaminated abrasive wheel.
7 Test results
7.1 The test result is expressed in the edge length of the abrasion mark, in millimeters. The result is retained to one decimal place.
7.2 There shall be at least two measuring points for each material. TAKE the arithmetic mean of four data measured at two points. The difference between the maximum and minimum test data shall not exceed 10% of the arithmetic mean. If the abrasion mark is a trapezoid, the difference between the long side and the short side shall not be greater than 10% of the short side. Otherwise, the test shall be repeated. If all four data are less than 5.0mm, no data deviation is required.
7.3 For outsoles consisting of two or more materials, the test results of each material are indicated separately.
