1 Scope
This Standard specifies the test pieces, test items and methods, test sequence,
result expression, as well as test report of the test methods for photovoltaic
curtain walls and photovoltaic skylights of building.
This Standard applies to the laboratory test of building curtain walls and
skylights with photovoltaic power generation function.

GB/T 29551 Laminated solar PV glazing materials in building
photovoltaic curtain wall or photovoltaic skylight. The test pieces shall also meet
the following requirements:
a) The photovoltaic components in test pieces shall meet the requirements
of JG/T 492.
b) For tests of air permeability performance, water tightness performance,
wind load resistance (structural performance), performance of
deformation between stories, impact resistance and mechanical
performance, the curtain wall test pieces shall meet the requirements of
GB/T 15227, and the skylight test pieces shall meet the requirements of
GB/T 34555.
c) The test pieces for seismic performance shall meet the requirements of
GB/T 18575; the test pieces for impact resistance to windborne debris
shall meet the requirements of GB/T 29738; the test pieces for tests of
thermal insulating performance shall meet the requirements of GB/T
29043; the test piece for tests and calculations of heat shielding
performance shall meet the requirements of JGJ/T 151; the test pieces for
tests of airborne sound insulation may refer to the provisions of GB/T 8485;
the test pieces for tests of optical and thermal performance shall meet the
requirements of GB/T 18091; the test pieces for thermal cycling
performance shall meet the requirements of JG/T 397.
5 Test items and methods
5.1 Appearance and dimensions
5.1.1 The appearance of photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic skylights
shall be visually inspected under good natural scattered light, at 500 mm away
from the sample.
5.1.2 The dimensions of photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic skylights
shall be measured with steel tapes with an accuracy of 1 mm and calipers with
an accuracy of 0.02 mm.
5.1.3 The appearance and dimensions of the photovoltaic components in test
pieces shall be tested in accordance with the provisions of JG/T 492.
5.2 Physical performance test
The test items and methods for the physical performance of photovoltaic curtain
walls and photovoltaic skylights of building shall meet the requirements of Table
1.
The insulation shall be tested according to the test method specified in GB/T
29551.
5.4.5 Wet leakage current
The wet leakage current shall be tested according to the test method specified
in GB/T 29551.
5.4.6 Humidity-freeze resistance test
The humidity-freeze resistance test shall be carried out according to the test
method specified in GB/T 29551.
6 Test sequence and result expression
6.1 Test sequence
6.1.1 The electrical performance test shall be carried out in the following
sequence (see Figure 1):
a) TEST the maximum power, insulation and wet leakage current of
photovoltaic components;
b) CARRY OUT the electroluminescence test for photovoltaic components;
c) ASSEMBLE photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic skylights, and
INSTALL test pieces;
d) TEST the air permeability performance, water tightness performance,
wind load resistance (structural performance) and performance of
deformation between stories of photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic
skylights;
e) DISASSEMBLE photovoltaic components;
f) CARRY OUT the electroluminescence test for photovoltaic components;
g) CARRY OUT the humidity-freeze resistance test for photovoltaic
components;
h) RE-TEST the maximum power, insulation withstand voltage and wet
leakage current of photovoltaic components.
NOTE 1: Photovoltaic skylights are not subjected to the test of performance of deformation
between stories.
NOTE 2: It is allowed to adjust the sequence of b) and c), e) and f).
where:
ΔP - the maximum power attenuation rate;
P1 - the initial test value of the maximum power, in watts (W);
P2 - the test value after the maximum power test, in watts (W).
7 Test report
7.1 The test report of photovoltaic curtain walls shall include the following
contents:
a) Name, series, model, main dimensions and drawings of test pieces
(including the elevation, section and main nodes of test pieces; section of
profile and sealing strips; drainage structure and location of drainage
holes; support system of test pieces; dimensions of the main force-bearing
components; opening method of the openable part; type, quantity and
location of hardware);
b) Structure and material composition of photovoltaic components;
c) Pre-tension design value of the tension structure components of point-
supported glass curtain walls;
d) Deflection and condition of the main force-bearing components during
deformation test, repeated pressure test and safety test;
e) Test results of various performances;
f) Single performance test phenomena, test results, insulation and wet
leakage current of two tests, humidity-freeze resistance and maximum
power attenuation rate of photovoltaic components;
g) Standards on which the test based and the main test equipment;
h) Temperature, humidity and air pressure of the test room;
i) Record any modifications made to test pieces;
j) Test date and test personnel.
7.2 The test report of photovoltaic skylights shall include at least the following
contents:
a) Name, series, model, main dimensions and drawings of test pieces
(including the elevation, section and main nodes of test pieces; section of

1 Scope

a) The photovoltaic components in test pieces shall meet the requirements
of JG/T 492.

5 Test items and methods
5.1 Appearance and dimensions
5.1.1 The appearance of photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic skylights
shall be visually inspected under good natural scattered light, at 500 mm away
from the sample.
5.1.2 The dimensions of photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic skylights
shall be measured with steel tapes with an accuracy of 1 mm and calipers with

5.1.3 The appearance and dimensions of the photovoltaic components in test

5.2 Physical performance test
The test items and methods for the physical performance of photovoltaic curtain

The insulation shall be tested according to the test method specified in GB/T
29551.
5.4.5 Wet leakage current
The wet leakage current shall be tested according to the test method specified
in GB/T 29551.
5.4.6 Humidity-freeze resistance test
The humidity-freeze resistance test shall be carried out according to the test
method specified in GB/T 29551.
6 Test sequence and result expression
6.1 Test sequence
6.1.1 The electrical performance test shall be carried out in the following
sequence (see Figure 1):
a) TEST the maximum power, insulation and wet leakage current of
photovoltaic components;
b) CARRY OUT the electroluminescence test for photovoltaic components;
c) ASSEMBLE photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic skylights, and
INSTALL test pieces;
d) TEST the air permeability performance, water tightness performance,
wind load resistance (structural performance) and performance of
deformation between stories of photovoltaic curtain walls and photovoltaic
skylights;
e) DISASSEMBLE photovoltaic components;
