1 Scope
This Standard specifies the general requirements, electrical performance, physical
properties, environmental adaptability, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness, test
methods and inspection rules of high-voltage connection system, which is constituted
of high duty cables and connectors for the purpose of electric vehicles.
This Standard is applicable to Class-B voltage high-voltage connection system for
electric vehicles, which complies with the stipulation in GB/T 18384.3-2015.
NOTE. in the connection system, the part that is used to conduct non-Class-B voltage
circuit can take this Standard as a reference.
This Standard is not applicable to connection set of conductive charging for electric
vehicles.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions, and what is defined in GB/T 18384.3-2015, GB/T
19596 and GB/T 20234.1 are applicable to this document.
3.1 High Voltage Cable
High voltage cable refers to cable assembly, which is constituted of one or multiple
high voltage cables for the conduction of Class-B voltage circuit.
3.2 High Voltage Connector
High voltage connector refers to a component that possesses one or multiple groups
of conductor terminal that provides the function of connection and separation among
high voltage cables, and between high voltage cables and high voltage components of
electric vehicles.
3.3 High Voltage Connection System
High voltage connection system refers to the connection set, which is constituted of
high voltage cables and high voltage connectors for the conduction of Class B voltage
circuit among high voltage components of electric vehicles.
NOTE. high voltage connection system can also include accessory components, such as
corrugated tubes, heat shrinkable tubes, fixtures and protective tubes (slots), etc.
4 General Requirements
4.1 Appearance
9.3 Voltage Resistance
Impose the test voltage that is stipulated in 7.3.3.3 in GB/T 18384.3-2015, inspect the
voltage resistance performance of the high voltage connection system.
9.4 Insulation Resistance
Among conductors, between conductors and outer shell, and between conductors and
shielding layer of the high voltage connection system, respectively impose the
stipulated test voltage to test the insulation resistance. The DC voltage of the tested
loop shall be 1,000 V ± 50 V. Read stable insulation resistance value. If it does not
reach stability, then, read the value within 60 s ± 5 s after imposing the voltage.
9.5 Temperature Rise
Conduct normal operation temperature rise test of the high voltage connection system;
the test does not include interlocking signal terminal. Test current is the system’s rated
current value. Please refer to Chapter 22 in GB/T 11918.1-2014 for the test time.
NOTE. rated current is the designed value of normal operating current of the high voltage
connection system; it does not consider the continuous or peak current in
temporary operation.
9.6 Protection Level
The test method of protection level shall comply with GB/T 30038 or GB/T 4208.
9.7 Constant Temperature Storage
The test method of low-temperature and high-temperature storage shall respectively
comply with 5.1.1.1 and 5.1.2.1 in GB/T 28046.4-2011.
9.8 Salt Spray Resistance
The test method of salt spray resistance shall comply with 5.5.1 in GB/T 28046.4-2011.
9.9 Chemical Resistance
The test method of chemical resistance shall comply with GB/T 28046.5-2013.
9.10 Random Vibration
The test method of random vibration shall comply with GB/T 28046.3-2011.
9.11 Electromagnetic Shielding Effectiveness
The test method of electromagnetic shielding effectiveness shall refer to Appendix C.
Appendix A
(Normative)
Some Requirements of High Voltage Connector
A.1 Structure
A.1.1 When high voltage connector is is coordinating, the various conductor terminals
shall correspond with a unique contact terminal.
