Scope

This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, materials, requirements, test
methods, inspection rules, as well as requirements for marking, packaging, transportation, and
storage of food can made of tinplate or electrolytic chromium-coated steel (hereinafter referred
to as "empty cans").
This Standard applies to the manufacture, use, circulation, and supervisory inspection of empty
cans made from tinplate or electrolytic chromium-coated steel that are used for packaging
