Load Lifting Attachments – Classification
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the common classification of load lifting attachments.
This Standard is applicable to the load lifting attachments.
2 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1 Load lifting attachment
Device for lifting articles in hoisting operations.
2.2 Non-fixed load lifting attachment
The load lifting attachment that can be easily removed from the hoisting machinery.
2.3 Fixed load lifting attachment
The load lifting attachment that can hang the net weight and is permanently attached
to the lower end of the lifting flexure.
2.4 Gripping type load lifting attachment
The load lifting attachment that applies a positive pressure to the side of the object to
be suspended by the clamping portion of the attachment; the effect of the positive
pressure overcomes the gravity of the object to be suspended.
2.5 Suspension type load lifting attachment
The load lifting attachment that support the object by suspension; and the mass center
of the object to be suspended is located below the attachment and lifting surface of the
object to be suspended.
2.6 Pallet folk type load lifting attachment
Take the load through the fork or support the load through the bracket; and the load
support point is on the fork or bracket.
