This standard is the amendment of GB/T 3324-1995 ?€?Wood furniture - general technical requirements?€?.
This standard replaces GB/T 3324-1995 ?€?Wood furniture - general technical requirements?€?.
As compared with GB/T 3324-1995, the main changes are as follows.
- In the terms and definitions, ADD the definition of "furniture main unit, base material, furniture made of wood, furniture made of wood-based panel,
wooden furniture made of multiple material, surface decoration by soft or hard material, surface decoration, and furniture hardware?€?; MODIFY the
definition of ?€?outward appearance, inward appearance?€?; DELETE the
definition of ?€?concealed location?€?;
- ADD the chapter of ?€?product classification?€?; SPECIFY the wood furniture product classification;
- In the ?€?Main dimensions and their deviations?€?, MODIFY the main
dimensions of the bed;
- In the ?€?Shape and position tolerance?€?, ADD the ?€?opposite side length
difference?€? inspection to the item ?€?adjacent edge perpendicularity?€?; UNIFY the requirements for ?€?parting?€?;
- In the ?€?Main material requirements?€?, ADD the ?€?identity consistency?€? and the ?€?wood-based panel moisture content?€? requirements, and MODIFY the wood

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, use instructions, packaging, transportation, and storage of wood furniture,.
This standard applies to general technical requirements of wood furniture products; other furniture may refer to this standard. When there are specific product standards, it shall comply with the provisions of the product standards. 2 Normative references

The terms and definitions as determined in QB/T 3914-1999 and the following apply to this standard.
3.1
Wooden furniture
It refers to the furniture which is, except for the decoration parts and fittings, made of wood, wood-based panels, and other wood materials.
3.2
Furniture main unit
It refers to the parts in the furniture which have the supporting, bearing and longitudinally partition functions. The table main unit includes table top, drawer, door panel, side board, foot stool and so on. The cabinet main unit includes panel, top board, door panel, side board, partition board, foot stool and so on; the main units of wood sofa, chair and stool include seat surface, armrest, backrest, foot and so on. The main units of bed furniture include bed screen (high screen, low screen), bed board, bed etc.
3.3
Main material
It refers to the materials used to make the main units of furniture, which is also known as base material.
3.4
Furniture made of wood
It refers to the furniture made of solid wood lumber or solid wood board, AND surface coated; OR the furniture the main materials of which are veneered with solid wood single board or thin wood veneer AND subjected to coating treatment. The solid wood sheet refers to the solid wood materials of joined wood and laminated wood which is formed by secondary processing.
3.5
Furniture made of wood-based panel
a) Furniture made of wood only. it refers to the furniture all the wooden parts of which (except for mirror pallets and depression bar) are made of solid wood lumber or solid wood panel;
b) Furniture made of wood. it refers to the furniture the main material of which is made of solid wood lumber or solid wood panel, AND the surface of
which dos not subjected to covering treatment;
c) Solid wood veneered furniture. it refers to the furniture the main material of which is made of solid wood lumber or solid wood panel, AND the
surface of which is covered with solid wood single board or thin wood
veneer.
4.1.1.2 Based on the solid wood properties, it can be divided into two categories. a) Furniture of solid wood lumber. it is also known as furniture made of natural wood, referring to the furniture made of solid wood lumber;
b) Furniture of solid wood panel. it refers to the furniture using the solid wood panel as the main materials.
4.1.2 Furniture made of wood-based panel
Based on the wood-based panel categories used for the main materials, the furniture made of wood-based panel can be divided into 4 categories.
a) Fibreboard furniture. furniture made of fibreboard;
b) Particleboard furniture. furniture that the main material is made of particleboard;
c) Block-board furniture. furniture that the main material is made of block- board;
