Hail impact test method of reflective glass
mirror for concentrated solar power
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the test conditions, test purposes, test devices and apparatus, samples, test procedures, expression of results and test reports involved in the hail impact test of reflective glass mirror for concentrated solar power.
This Standard is applicable to the anti-hail impact performance test of the glass reflective mirror for the solar photothermal; the anti-hail impact performance tests of the glass reflective mirror for concentrating photovoltaic and the glass reflective mirror of other types can refer to this Standard.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) are applicable to this standard.
IEC 61215.2005 Crystalline silicon terrestrial photovoltaic (PV) modules - Design qualification and type approval
3 Test conditions
Unless otherwise specified, the tests shall be carried out under the following conditions. - Temperature. 20°C ± 5°C;
- Air pressure. 8.60×104 Pa ~ 1.06×105 Pa;
- Relative humidity. 40% ~ 80%.
4 Test purposes
Verify the ability of the glass reflective mirror to withstand the hail impact. ● The mass shall be in the range of (7.53 ± 0.37) g.
c) Before use, place the ice ball in the storage container for at least 1h. d) Ensure that all the surface temperature of the launchers which are in contact with the ice ball shall be close to the room temperature.
e) Use the method of the following procedures to launch 3 times for the simulated target test; adjust the launcher; let the ice ball’s speed which is measured by the speed sensor at the range of (23 ± 1.15) m·s-1.
f) Install the sample on the bracket at room temperature; install the sample according to the actual installation mode; let the lowest point of the sample’s surface be perpendicular to the launch path of the ice ball.
g) Take the ice ball out of the storage container; place it in the launcher; aim at the impact position specified in Figure 2 and perform launch. The deviation of the impact point’s position and the specified position shall not be greater than 10 mm. The time interval from removing the ice ball out of the container to impact it on the sample shall not exceed 60s.
h) Check the collision area of the sample; mark the damage condition; record all the visible impact results.
i) If the sample is not damaged, then repeat the steps of g) and h) for other impact positions in Figure 2, until all impacts are completed.
8 Expression of results
After each impact, check the collision area of the sample; observe the surface condition after the impact of the sample; record all the cracks or holes which are visible to the naked eye.
9 Test report
The test report shall include the following.
a) Adopted standard;
b) Name of the sample;
c) Source of sample;
d) Sample’s size, thickness, structure and impact point;
