Foreword
GB/T 33164, Spring Steels for Automotive Suspension System, is divided into two parts.
-- Part 1. Hot Rolled Flat Steels;
-- Part 2. Hot Rolled Round Steel Bar and Wire Rod.
This Part is Part 2 of GB/T 33164.
This Part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Part was proposed by China Iron and Steel Association.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Standardization Technical Committee on Steels (SAC/TC 183).
The drafting organizations of this Part. Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steel Co., Ltd., Qingdao Special Steel and Iron Co., Ltd., Fangda Special Steel Technology Co., Ltd., China Metallurgical Information and Standardization Institute, Beijing Jiaotong University.

1 Application Scope
This Part specifies the ordering content, dimensions, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certification of round steel bars and wire rod for spiral spring, torsion bar and stabilizer bar in automotive suspension system.
This Part applies to hot rolled round steel bar of nominal diameter not greater than 80 mm and hot rolled wire rod of nominal diameter not greater than 40 mm (hereinafter referred to as steels).

3 Ordering Content
3.1 The contract for ordering in accordance with this Part shall include the following content.
a) number of this Part;
b) name of this Part;
c) product name;
d) designation;
e) dimension and accuracy;
f) nominal length or weight;
g) delivery condition and code (see 5.3);
h) group of non-metallic inclusions (see 5.7);
i) special requirements (see 5.12, if any).
4 Dimension, Shape and Weight
4.1 Round steels
4.1.1 The dimensions and tolerances of round steels shall be as specified in GB/T 702-2008; the specific group shall be stated in the contract, and if not stated, it shall be as specified for Group 2 in GB/T 702-2008.
4.1.2 The normal length of round steel bar is 3 000 mm ~ 12 000 mm; steels shall be delivered in fixed length or double length, with the tolerance for length 0 mm ~ + 50 mm.
4.1.3 The out-of-roundness of round steels shall be as specified in GB/T 702-2008. 4.1.4 The bending of round steels shall be as specified for Group 1 in GB/T 702-2008. 4.1.5 The ends of round steels shall be cut by sawing or shearing neatly, without defects that are adverse to use, including burrs and misruns.
4.2 Bright steels
4.2.1 The diameter and tolerance of bright steels shall be as specified for grade 11 (h11) in GB/T 3207-2008. Steels of other grades or tolerances may also be delivered as agreed on by the supplier and the purchaser; the specific grades and tolerances shall be stated in the contract.
4.2.2 The normal length of bright steels is 3 000 mm ~ 12 000 mm; steels shall be delivered in fixed length or double length. The tolerance for length is 0 mm ~ + 40 mm. 4.2.3 The out-of-roundness of bright steels shall be as specified in GB/T 3207-2008. 4.2.4 The bending of bright steels per meter shall not be greater than 2 mm; the total bending shall not be greater than 0.20% of the length of steels.
4.2.5 The ends of bright steels shall be cut by sawing or shearing neatly, without defects that are adverse to use, including burrs; the tolerance for perpendicularity of the end faces of bright steels shall not be greater than 2 mm.
4.3 Wire rods
The dimensions, shape and tolerances of wire rods shall meet the accuracy
