Detergent additive for diesel fuel
WARNING: If the appropriate precautions are not followed, the products
under this Standard may be dangerous in the process of production,
storage, transportation, and use. This Standard does not intend to make
recommendations for all safety issues related to this product. Before
using this standard, users are responsible for establishing appropriate
safety and precautionary measures and determining the applicability of
relevant regulatory restrictions.
1 Scope
This Standard specifies terms and definitions, requirements and test methods,
inspection rules, marks, packaging, transportation and storage, safety for
detergent additive for diesel fuel.
This Standard is applicable to the detergents used in diesel engine fuels such
as vehicle diesel, ordinary diesel, and biodiesel blended fuel (B5).

5 Inspection rules
5.1 Inspection classification and inspection items
Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.
5.1.1 Exit-factory inspection
The exit-factory batch inspection items include appearance, nitrogen content,
sulfur content, chlorine content, density, kinematic viscosity, flash point (closed),
pour point, moisture, mechanical impurities, and demulsibility. When there are
no changes in raw materials and production processes that may affect product
quality, the exit-factory cycle inspection item is nozzle cleanliness. The
inspection cycle is every two years for normal production.
5.1.2 Type inspection
The type inspection items include all the items specified in the technical
requirements of Table 1.
The type inspection shall be conducted in one of the following cases:
a) When a new product is put into production or product stereotype
identification;
b) when there are great changes in raw material, production technique which
may affect product quality;
c) when production is resumed after discontinued production of more than
two years.
5.2 Batching
Under the conditions of the same raw materials and production technique, each
can or kettle produced is a batch.
5.3 Sampling
Conduct it according to GB/T 4756. The amount of sample taken is not less
than 1L for inspection and sample retention.
5.4 Rules for determination
When the results of exit-factory inspection and type inspection all meet the
requirements of Table 1, the batch of products is determined to be conforming.
5.5 Reinspection rules
Annex B
(normative)
Test method for demulsibility of detergent additive for diesel fuel
B.1 Scope
This method specifies the test method and test instrument for the
demulsification performance of detergent additive for diesel fuel.
This method is applicable to evaluation on the demulsification performance of
detergent additive for diesel fuel.
B.2 Method summary
At room temperature, put the test diesel fuel and phosphate buffer solution into
a clean stoppered glass measuring cylinder. Shake the measuring cylinder as
required. Then check the volume change of the water layer in the glass
measuring cylinder.
B.3 Instrument
Stoppered glass measuring cylinder: 100mL, of which the graduation is 1mL.
The distance from the 100mL scale line to the mouth of the measuring cylinder
is 50mm~60mm.
B.4 Reagents and materials
B.4.1 Distilled water: meet the requirements of grade 3 water in GB/T 6682.
B.4.2 Acetone: analytically pure (warning: flammable, harmful to the body).
B.4.3 Glass cleaning solution: non-ionic detergent cleaning solution; if
necessary, use chromic acid lotion (warning: strong corrosive, harmful to
health).
B.4.4 Potassium hydrogen phosphate anhydrous: analytically pure.
B.4.5 Anhydrous potassium dihydrogen phosphate: analytically pure.
B.4.6 Phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0): Dissolve 1.15g of anhydrous
potassium hydrogen phosphate and 0.47g of anhydrous potassium dihydrogen
phosphate in 100mL of distilled water. The laboratory can also use the above
buffer solutions that are commercially available.
