4.1.3 According to the requirements of the demander, after the consultation
between supplier and demander, and making indications in the contract, it is
allowed to supply the steel tubes with other outer diameters, wall thicknesses
and tolerances.
4.2 Out-of-roundness
For the steel tubes, the out-of-roundness shall not exceed 75% of the tolerance
of the nominal outer diameter. However, for the thin-walled steel tubes whose
ratio OF wall thickness TO outer diameter is not greater than 3%, the out-of-
roundness shall not exceed 2% of the nominal outer diameter.
4.3 Bending
The bending of steel tubes shall not be greater than 1.5 mm/m.
4.4 End shape
The end faces on both sides of each steel tube shall be perpendicular to the
steel tube’s axis. Furthermore, REMOVE the burrs at the notches.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Designations and chemical compositions of steels
5.1.1 The designations and chemical compositions (smelting analysis) of
steels shall conform to the provisions of Table 2. According to the requirements
of the demander, after the consultation between supplier and demander, and
making indications in the contract, it is allowed to supply the steel tubes with
other designations and chemical compositions.
5.1.2 The tolerances for the chemical compositions of finished steel tubes
shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 222.
5.2 Manufacturing method
5.2.1 Steel tubes shall use rolled steel strips as raw materials, and automatic
welding method without adding any filler metals for manufacture.
5.2.2 According to the requirements of the demander, after the consultation
between supplier and demander, and making indications in the contract, it is
allowed to conduct cold working to the steel tubes’ welding seams and base
metal, or to only conduct cold working to the weld metal after welding and before
final heat treatment.
5.3 Delivery status
S - Nominal wall thickness of the steel tube, in unit of millimeter (mm);
D - Nominal outer diameter of the steel tube, in unit of millimeter (mm);
e - Coefficient of deformation per unit length. For the austenitic steel tubes
and austenitic-ferritic duplex steel tubes, it shall be 0.09. For the ferritic steel
tubes, it shall be 0.08.
5.6.2 Flanging test
Steel tubes shall be conducted with flanging test. During the flanging test, the
flanging width shall not be less than 15% of the outer diameter. After the test,
there shall be no cracks on the test sample.
5.7 Non-destructive testing
Steel tubes shall be conducted with eddy current testing one by one. During the
eddy current testing, the artificial defects of the contrast tube shall conform to
the provisions of the acceptance level B in GB/T 7735-2004.
After the consultation between supplier and demander, and making indications
in the contract, it is allowed to use other non-destructive testing methods.
5.8 Corrosion tests
5.8.1 Intergranular corrosion test
5.8.1.1 Austenitic steel tubes and ferritic steel tubes shall be conducted with
intergranular corrosion test. After the test, the test samples are not allowed to
have corrosion tendency.
5.8.1.2 For the austenitic steel tubes with the nominal outer diameters of less
than 16mm, TAKE 25mm long whole tube section as test sample. CONDUCT
the immersion corrosion according to the provisions of method E in GB/T 4334-
2008. FLATTEN the test sample according to the Step 1 in the provisions of
Section 5.6.1. MAKE evaluation afterwards. For the austenitic steel tubes with
the nominal outer diameters of not less than 16mm, the intergranular corrosion
test methods shall conform to the provisions of method E in GB/T 4334-2008.
5.8.1.3 The ferritic steel tubes with the designations of 022Cr18Ti,
019Cr19Mo2NbTi and 008Cr27Mo shall be conducted with intergranular
corrosion test according to the provisions of GB/T 32571. According to the
requirements of the demander, after the consultation between supplier and
demander, and makin...
