Operating on Roads
The maximum torque measured at full load of the engine under standard
environmental conditions.
3.5 Speed limiting device
A device which limits the maximum speed of an engine.
4 Requirements
4.1 Basic requirements
4.1.1 The engine shall be manufactured in accordance with the product
drawings and technical documents approved by the prescribed procedures; and
shall comply with the provisions of this Standard.
4.1.2 For engine type coding, refer to the provisions of GB/T 725 or QC/T 253.
4.1.3 The manufacturer shall be able to provide the main technical
specifications of the engine; see Appendix A.
4.1.4 The manufacturer shall, according to the purpose and characteristics of
the engine, give the required characteristic curve.
4.1.5 The engine shall, under various tilting conditions of maximum inclination
angle of 30° in front-rear and left-right, be able to work normally.
4.1.6 Any engine equipped with a speed limiting device can automatically limit
the speed or interrupt firing (After the speed is lower than the limited speed,
ignition operation can be automatically resumed).
4.1.7 The main parts and quick-wear parts (including accessories) of the same
type of engine shall be interchangeable.
4.1.8 Air leakage, oil leakage, and water leakage are not allowed on the sealing
surfaces and pipe joints of the engine.
4.1.9 The engine assembly shall be correct, tight, and reliable. The tightening
torque of important fasteners shall be in accordance with the technical
documents.
4.2 Operation quality
4.2.1 After starting, the manual starting mechanism shall be able to be flexibly
reset; and the electric starting mechanism shall be automatically disengaged.
4.2.2 The engine, when it is running, shall meet the following requirements:
“type-M”], the maximum torque of the engine shall comply with the provisions
of the enterprise product standard. The deviation of the maximum torque and
the corresponding speed value shall be in accordance with GB/T 17692.
4.4.3 Minimum fuel consumption rate
4.4.3.1 The minimum fuel consumption rate of spark-ignition engine shall be in
accordance with the value specified in QC/T 224.
4.4.3.2 The minimum fuel consumption of compression-ignition engine shall be
in accordance with the value specified in GB/T 1147.1.
4.4.4 Starting performance
4.4.4.1 The type-M gasoline engine, when the ambient temperature is not lower
than 255 K (-18 °C), other engines, when the ambient temperature is not lower
than 263 K (-10 °C), shall be able to start smoothly.
4.4.4.2 Electric starting engine, starting time shall not exceed 15 s, shall be able
to start successfully.
4.4.4.3 For engines with manual starting, the starting performance is divided
into two categories:
a) When manual starting is used as the major starting mode: The starting
time (excluding the auxiliary operation time before the starting) shall be no
more than 15 s. It shall be able to start successfully;
b) When the manual starting is used as the auxiliary starting mode: At least
the engine start can be realized; or the enterprise standard can be
implemented.
4.4.5 Minimum no-load stable speed (idle speed)
4.4.5.1 For the minimum no-load stable speed performance of a spark-ignition
engine, see the requirements of QC/T 224.
4.4.5.2 For the minimum no-load stable speed performance of a compression-
ignition engine, see the requirements of GB/T 1147.1.
4.5 Cleanliness
The engine’s cleanliness limits shall be in accordance with the values specified
in JB/T 9774.
4.6 Reliability and durability
5.5 Starting performance measurement
5.5.1 The starting performance measurement of spark-ignition engine shall be
carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 5363.
5.5.2 The starting performance measurement of compression-ignition engine
shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1147.2.
5.6 Measurement of minimum no-load stable speed (idle speed)
5.6.1 The minimum no-load speed measurement of spark-ignition engine shall
be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 5363.
5.6.2 The minimum no-load speed measurement of compression-ignition
engine shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1147.2.
5.7 Cleanliness
The cleanliness test shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of

accordance with the provisions of QC/T 61.
5.8.2 For compression-ignition engines, the reliability test is carried out in
accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1147.2.
Note: For CVT engines, the intensifying test may be performed by means of the output
shaft.
6 Inspection rules
Engine inspection is classified into type inspection and exit-factory inspection.
6.1 Type inspection
6.1.1 The type inspection is an inspection to determine whether the main
performance of the engine meets the standards and relevant regulations. The
number of engines for type inspection is 1. Special circumstances m...
