Graphical signs - Electric vehicle charging and battery
swapping infrastructure signs
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements for electric-vehicles’ charging and battery-
swapping infrastructure symbols and signs, as well as their setting requirements.
This Standard is applicable to electric-vehicle’s charging/battery-swapping station,
battery replacement station, parking lots with electric-vehicles’ charging/battery-
swapping infrastructure, transport depot, nearby roads and other public places.
Specifically, it is applicable to the design of location signs, guidance signs, the
information edition, the schematic diagram and other orientation elements in public
information orientation system.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the
dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this
document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the
amendments) are applicable to this Standard.
GB/T 2893.1 Graphical symbols - Safety colors and safety signs - Part 1. Design
principles for safety signs and safety markings

requirements - Part 1. General principles
3 Graphical signs for electric-vehicle’s charging/battery-
swapping infrastructure
See Table 1 for electric-vehicle’s charging/battery-swapping infrastructure signs.
highlighted (See Figure A.1 and Figure A.2).
5.2.2 At the entrance to the charging/battery-swapping facilities, the charging/battery-
swapping functionality shall be marked, such as DC charging, AC charging, battery
replacement, etc. And the signs shall be chosen from type A or type B from Figure 1
~ 6 (see Figure A.1, A.2 and A.3).
5.2.3 Inside the charging/battery-swapping facilities, the corresponding signs shall be
set up for different charging/battery-swapping facilities or different functional areas to
facilitate the driver to choose and use the charging devices (see Figure A.1 and A.2).
5.3 Setting requirements
5.3.1 In accordance with the actual situation and characteristics of the electric-
vehicle’s charging/battery-swapping facilities, appropriate installation methods shall
be chosen.
-- Attached type. signs are directly fixed to the charging/battery-swapping facilities
or buildings;
-- Column type. signs are fixed on one or a plurality of support rod;
-- Frame type. signs are fixed in a frame or between supporting rods;
-- Suspension type. signs are hung in the installation positions.
5.3.2 The installation height of the electric-vehicle charging/battery-swapping signs
shall be convenient for the driver to watch.
5.3.3 For suspension type and frame type electric-vehicles, the vertical distance
between the ground and the lower edge of the electric-vehicle charging/battery-
swapping signs shall meet the height requirements of the vehicle passage.
5.3.4 In the same area, the electric-vehicle charging/battery-swapping signs with the
same installation mode shall be set at the same height.
5.4 Materials and maintenance requirements
5.4.1 Use materials and methods which are capable of ensuring sign recognition at
night. Ensure the signs clear and discernible by providing a light source, using an
inverse reflection or self-luminous material, etc.
5.4.2 The construction materials of the electric-vehicle’s charging/battery-swapping
signs shall be environmentally friendly, safe, durable, flame retardant, anti-corrosion
and easily maintained.
5.4.3 Inspect and maintain the signs regularly to ensure that the sign materials do not
deform, fade off, or fall off. Replace the signs which are missed, damaged or aged;
and clean the surface of signs to maintain the signs clean and tidy.
6 The design and setting of electric-vehicle’s
charging/battery-swapping signs for road usage
6.1 When designing the electric-vehicle’s charging/battery-swapping signs for road
usage, use "charging/battery-swap” sign in Table 1 Number 1. And the design shall
comply with GB 5768.2.
6.2 The setting-location, size, layout, color, installation, materials and maintenance of
electric-vehicle’s charging/battery-swapping signs for road usage shall comply with
GB 5768.2.
