Test guidelines on environmental safety assessment
for chemical pesticides-
Part 17. Trichogramma acute toxicity test
1 Scope
GB/T 31270 of this Part specifies the basic requirements such as material, condition,
operation, quality control, data processing, test report of trichogramma acute toxicity test
caused by pesticides.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions shall apply.
2.1 Medium lethal concentration
In acute toxicity test, test substance usage amount that causes 50% death of test
organism, indicated as LR50.
Note. unit is mg a.i./L, that is, the amount of active ingredient of test substance per unit
area.
2.2 Safety factor
Ratio of amount of medium lethal of trichogramma (LR50) TO the field recommended
concentration of test pesticide, indicated by Formula (1).
a.i./cm2) (mg pesticide theofion concentrat drecommende Field
mma trichogra topesticide of a.i./cm2) (mg (LR50) factorSafety  .. (1)
2.3 Test substance
Substance that needs to be tested in test.
2.4 Chemical pesticide
Pesticide is an artificial pesticide by using chemical substances, in which biomimetic
synthesis pesticide is made by taking active substance of natural products as matrix,
conducting the imitation, structure-change and innovation.
Annex A
(Informative)
Division of risk level of pesticide to trichogrammas
According to safety factor to evaluate the safety of pesticide to trichogrammas; the risk of
pesticide to trichogrammas can be divided into four levels, as shown in Table A.1.
Table A.1 Division of toxic level of trichogramma caused by pesticide
Level of risk Safety factor
Severe risk Safety factor ≤ 0.05
Highly risk 0.5 < Safety factor ≤ 0.5
Risk 20 < Safety factor ≤ 5
Low risk Safety factor > 5
