Scope

This Standard specifies terms and definitions, requirements, test method, inspection rules
and label, packaging, transportation, storage, shelf life of complete pet food - cat food.
This Standard applies to complete pet food - cat food with industrialized processing and
fabrication, except prescription cat food.

3  Terms and definitions 
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1
Pet
Dogs or cats fed at home as companion animals, or dogs used for work.
3.2
Pet food
Food with industrialized processing and fabrication that is used to feed pets, including
complete pet food and complementary pet food; According to moisture content, it is
divided into dry pet food, Semi-moist (type) pet food and wet (type) pet food.
3.3
Complete pet food
Except for moisture content, the pet food of which the contained nutrient and energy can
meet daily nutritional requirements of pets.
3.4
Complementary pet food
If unqualified items are found in the inspection, it is allowed to re-inspect the sampling
from double-packing of products of the same batch; if there still is unqualified item in
re-inspection results, then this batch of products shall be judged as unqualified.
If there is one unqualified item in inspection results of microbiological indicators, then this
batch of products shall be judged as unqualified; re-inspection is not allowed.
