1 Scope
GB/T 3098 provisions of this part of the material, technical requirements and test methods for self-tapping screws.
This section applies to the manufacture of hardened steel, thread specifications for ST2.2 ~ ST9.5, tapping screw thread according to GB/T 5280 regulations.

3 Materials
Self-tapping screws by cold heading, carburizing steel.
4. Technical Requirements
4.1 Metallographic
4.1.1 Surface hardness
After the heat treatment of the surface hardness of the self-tapping screws should ≥450HV0.3 (see GB/T 4340.1).
4.1.2 case depth
Tapping screw case depth shall comply with the provisions in Table 1.

4.1.3 Core Hardness
After the heat treatment of the self-tapping screw core hardness should be.
Thread size ≤ST3.9. 270HV5 ~ 370HV5;

4.2 Mechanical properties
