GB/T 3077-1999: Alloy structure steels

This Standard specifies the hot rolled and forging alloy structure steels dimension, shape, weight, tolerance, technical requirements, test method, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates etc. This Standard applies to alloy structural steel bars of which the diameter or thickness is not greater than 250mm. After negotiation by supplier and purchaser, it can provide steel bars of which the diameter or thickness is greater than 250 mm.

Foreword
This Standard has revised GB/T 3077-1988 ?€?Alloy Structure Steel ?€? Technical requirements?€?.
There have been some changes over its previous edition in the following technical aspects.
?€? CHANGE the name of this Standard to ?€?Alloy Structure Steels?€?;
?€? After negotiation by supplier and purchaser, it may provide the steel-bar of which the diameter is greater than 250mm;
?€? ADD a chapter ?€?Order Content?€?;
?€? ADD the unified number-code for steel-product marking code and grades; ?€? DELETE 5 steel grades - 30Mn2MoW, 20Mn2B, 20SiMnVB, 20Cr3MoWVA, 20CrV; and ADD steel grade 18CrMnNiMoA which was developed by China;

This Standard replaces GB/T 3077-1988 from the date of the implementation. This Standard was proposed by the State Bureau of Metallurgical Industry. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee of Standardization Steel.

Alloy structure steels
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the hot rolled and forging alloy structure steels?€? dimension, shape, weight, tolerance, technical requirements, test method, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates etc.
This Standard applies to alloy structural steel bars of which the diameter or thickness is not greater than 250mm. After negotiation by supplier and purchaser, it can provide steel bars of which the diameter or thickness is greater than 250 mm.
The chemical compositions of the grades specified by this Standard also apply to steel ingots, steel billets and its productions.

3 Order Content
Contract or order according to this Standard shall include following content. a) Standard number;
b) Product name;
c) Steel grade or unified number-code;
d) Control residual elements (For requirements, refer to 6.1.1.2);
5 Size, shape, weight, and tolerance
5.1 The size, shape, weight, and tolerance of hot-rolled bar and square steel shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 702, and the particular requirements shall be specified in the contract.
5.2 The size, shape, weight, and tolerance of forged bar and square steel shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 908, and the particular requirements shall be specified in the contract.
5.3 The size, shape, weight, and tolerance of profiled bar shall be comply with the appropriate standards or terms of the agreement reached between supplier and buyer, and the particular requirements shall be specified in the contract.
6 Technical specifications
6.1 Steel grade and chemical composition
6.1.1 Steel grade, unified number-code, and chemical composition (melting analysis) shall comply with the specifications of Table 1.
6.1.1.1 The sulfur, phosphorus and residual content of copper, chromium, nickel, molybdenum of steel shall comply with the specifications of Table 2.
6.1.1.2 The residual contents of tungsten, vanadium, and titanium shall be analyzed, and the results shall be recorded in the quality certificate. According to the buyer?€?s request, the residual contents of tungsten, vanadium, titanium contents can be limited. and 10% respectively; for size from 150 to 250mm, the after-fracture elongation rat, section shrinkage rate, and impact absorption energy are permissible to be reduced by 3% (absolute value), 15 (absolute value), and 15% respectively.
6.4.3 For steels of which the size is more than 80mm, it is permissible that the sampling blank is forge-changed (or roll-changed) to be in section size of 70~80mm, then conduct the sampling. The inspection result shall comply with Table 3.
6.4.4 According to the buyer needs, if the steels are deliver as quenching or tempering condition, the test specimen for mechanical properties shall be free of heat treatment. The mechanical properties shall be specified on the agreement reached between supplier and buyer.
6.5 Macrostructure
6.5.1 The acid etch macroscopic cross-section of steel specimens shall be free of visible cavity, air bubble, crackle, inclusion, skull patch, shatter crack, and inter- granular crack.
6.5.2 The acid etch macrostructure grade shall comply with the Table 4. 6.5.2.1 The surface spot segregation and edge spot segregation of 38CrMoAl or 38CrMoAlA shall not be more than level-2.5 and level-1.5 respectively.
6.5.2.2 The cutting processing steel is allowed to have sub-surface inclusion, sub- surface bubble and other defects that do not exceed the permissible depth of surface defects.
6.5.2.3 If the supplier can guarantee that the macrostructure test of steels is qualified, ultrasonic inspection method or other non-destructive inspection methods can be used to replace acid etch.
6.6 Surface Texture
6.6.1 The surfaces of pressure processing steel shall be free of crackle, scarring, folding and inclusion. These defects must be cleaned away if they exist; the remove depth, calculated by the actual size of steels, shall comply with Table 5. The minimum width of removed material shall be five times of depth; the maximum depth removed on a same section shall not be more than 1 place. Calculated from the actual size, the fine scratches, indentations and pitting of which the size is half of the tolerance; and small crackle of which the depth does not exceed 0.2 are allowed to exist. 15 45B 25 840 - Water 550 Water 835 685 12 45 47 217
