Test methods for electrical properties of electric cables and
wires - Part 1: General
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 3048 specifies terms and definitions for electrical properties of
electric cables and wires, general provisions for tests, purpose to realize the provisions
and periodic calibration of test equipment.
According to the relevant wire and cable standards, the test methods specified in the
subsequent parts of GB/T 3048 are applicable to the electrical properties test for various
types of electric cables and wires as well as materials.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this Part, the following terms and definitions apply to this Part of
GB/T 3048.
2.1 environmental conditions of specification
At the specified temperature and within the specified time, the specimen is placed in an
environment with a specified relative humidity or immersed in water or other specified
liquids.
2.2 reference standard environment
The value measured under any environmental condition can be corrected to the value
in a specific environment by calculation, and this specific environmental condition is
called the reference standard environment.
The standard reference atmospheric conditions are:
Temperature: t0=20℃;
Air pressure: b0=101.3kPa;
Absolute humidity: h0=11g/m3.
2.3 repeatability
Under the same measurement conditions, the consistency between the results obtained
by successively measuring the same physical quantity for many times.
results.
NOTE 4: Measurement results are generally understood here as corrected results.
NOTE 5: Under reproducibility conditions, reproducibility is given quantitatively as the
experimental standard deviation SR of repeated observations (called the reproducibility standard
deviation).
2.5 calibration
Under specified conditions, it is a set of operations to determine the relationship
between the value represented by the measuring instrument, the indication value of the
measuring system, the physical measuring instrument or the reference material and the
corresponding value determined by the reference standard.
NOTE 1: Calibration results can be used to evaluate the indication error of a measuring instrument,
measuring system or physical measuring tool, or to assign values to marks on any scale.
NOTE 2: Calibration can also be used to determine other metrological characteristics.
NOTE 3: Calibration results can be recorded on a document sometimes called a "calibration
certificate" or "calibration report."
NOTE 4: Correction values or "calibration factors" or "calibration curves" are sometimes used to
characterize calibration results.
3 General provisions for tests
3.1 Unless otherwise specified in the relevant standards, the test shall be carried out at
the ambient temperature (room temperature).
3.2 Unless otherwise specified in the product standard, during the type test, the
specimen shall be subjected to environmental conditioning treatment for at least 16h.
The environmental conditions shall be in accordance with the relevant standards.
3.3 GB/T 3048 does not specify all test conditions and all test requirements. They shall
be specified in the relevant cable product standards.
Any test requirements specified in GB/T 3048 can be modified in the relevant cable
product standards, so as to suit the needs of special types of cables.
3.4 The test methods specified in GB/T 3048 are first used as type tests. Unless
otherwise specified in the product standard, sampling tests and routine tests shall also
be used. There are essential differences between the type test of some test items and the
conditions of frequent tests (such as routine tests). GB/T 3048 has specified these
differences.
