Introduction
Warehouse receipt is the right credential issued by the warehouse depository, after checking
and accepting the storage goods delivered by the customer. The concept “warehouse” was
first-time appeared in the “Guarantee Law of the People's Republic of China” which was
revised in 1995. “Stock in” and “stock out” are still in use in actual warehouse service
business now. With rapid development of China’s national economy and logistics industry,
futures trading and chattel mortgage financing had been emerging, the “warehouse receipt”
began to be widely used in these 2 fields. However, there is no professional standard for
warehouse receipt yet. As legal concept is disjointed with actual receipt, and there is no
warehouse receipt standard, it directly impacts to normative development of warehouse
service and impawning supervision businesses. Formulation of this standard has significant
meaning in prompting the healthy development of China’s modern warehouse industry,
commodity trading, financing market, and capital trading. And it assures legal rights of
relevant parties and maintains social economic order.
