GB/T 30159.1-2013: Textiles -- Testing and evaluation for anti-soil properties -- Part 1: Stain resistance

This part of GB/T 30159 specifies two test methods for measuring stain resistance of textiles, namely liquid staining method and solid staining method; gives an evaluation index of stain resistance. This part applies to all types of textile fabrics and their products. According to the product type and purpose, it may select one or two methods. The test results, which are obtained by using different soils and methods, are not comparable. This part does not apply to coated fabrics for membrane structures. When the color of the specimen and the solid dirt are similar, it should not use the solid staining method for evaluation.

1 Scope
This part of GB/T 30159 specifies two test methods for measuring stain
resistance of textiles, namely liquid staining method and solid staining method; gives an evaluation index of stain resistance.
This part applies to all types of textile fabrics and their products. According to the product type and purpose, it may select one or two methods. The test results, which are obtained by using different soils and methods, are not comparable. This part does not apply to coated fabrics for membrane structures. When the color of the specimen and the solid dirt are similar, it should not use the solid staining method for evaluation.

same circumferential surface as the inner surface of the cylinder body. 5.2.4 The protective bag is made of 3 layers of A-type polyester wash cloth, that meets the requirements of GB/T 8629-2001. The size should fit into the test tube. The bag opening can be tightened by a rope, to prevent the test tube from contaminating and damaging the inner wall, during the turning process of the overturning box.
5.2.5 Household hair dryers.
5.2.6 Adhesive tape.
5.2.7 Gray sample scale for evaluating discoloration, which complies with GB/T 250.
6 Preparation and humidity conditioning of specimen
Take a representative specimen from each sample; ensure that its surface is free from stains and wrinkles. For the liquid staining method, take 2 specimens; the size shall meet the test requirements. For the solid staining method, take 2 specimens; the size of each specimen is about (300 ?? 120) mm.
If evaluating the washing resistance of the anti-dirt properties of the sample, it shall use the 6A procedure in GB/T 8629-2001, to wash the sample. The
number of washings is 10, OR it is determined according to the negotiation between the two parties, but it shall be stated in the test report.
Note: When washing multiple times, the time can be accumulated for continuous washing.
The specimen shall be subject to humidity conditioning, in the standard atmosphere as specified in GB/T 6529.
7 Procedure
7.1 Liquid staining method
7.1.1 The test is carried out in the standard atmosphere, which is specified in GB/T 6529.
7.1.2 Place two layers of filter paper on a smooth horizontal surface. Then place the specimen flat on the filter paper, with the front side upwards.
7.1.3 Choose one or two kinds of staining liquids as required. On the 3 parts of the specimen, use a dropper to drop about 0.05 mL (1 drop) of the staining liquid (see 5.1.1) in each part, at an interval between different liquid droplets of at least 50 mm. When dropping the liquid, the mouth of the dropper is about 6 mm away from the surface of the specimen.
7.1.4 After the specimen is allowed to stand for (30 ?? 2) s, observe each droplet at an angle of about 45??; grade it according to 8.1.
7.1.5 Test the other specimen, according to 7.1.1 ~ 7.1.4.
7.2 Solid staining method
7.2.1 Place the specimen on the specimen fixing piece, with the test surface facing up, so that it covers the 3 convex parts. Use the specimen fixing piece to wrap the cylinder, to fix the specimen on the test cylinder. Then use tape to seal the both ends of the specimen fixing piece.
7.2.2 Add (40 ?? 2) mg of solid dirt (see 5.2.1) to the bottom of the test cylinder. Apply the cylinder cover. Put the test cylinder into the protective bag. Tie the opening of the bag tightly.
7.2.3 Put the protective bag, which contains the test cylinder, into the overturning box. Make the axial direction of the cylinder body be parallel to the horizontal axis of the overturning box. Close the box cover.
7.2.4 Start the overturning box. Stop it after 200 rotations. Take out the specimen.
7.2.5 Use a blower to blow off the dirt attached to the surface of the specimen. Grade it according to 8.2.
7.2.6 Test the other specimen according to 7.2.1 ~ 7.2.5.
7.2.7 After the test, clean the test cylinder.
8 Results presentation and evaluation
8.1 Results of the liquid staining method
Observe the state of the liquid dirt on the surface of the specimen. Grade each droplet, according to the grade as given in Table 1. If it is between two grades, record a half grade, such as grade 3-4. If there are 2 or 3 places with the same grade in the same specimen, the grade is taken as the grade of the specimen. If the grades are not the same in 3 places, the intermediate value is taken as the grade of the specimen. Take the lower grade of the two specimens as the test result of the sample.
