specification
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms, classification, marking, storage, safety protection,
operation and management requirements for mobile laboratory hazardous waste.
This Standard applies to the design, control and management of hazardous waste
disposal in mobile laboratories used on land.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 29479-
Mixed substances such as excess samples, analysis products, consumed or damaged
experimental supplies (such as glassware, gauze, inspection supplies, experimental
equipment), residual or failed chemical reagents generated during the experiment.
5 Hazardous waste management requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 Mobile laboratories shall set up space and facilities for waste disposal.
5.1.2 All hazardous waste in the mobile laboratory shall be equipped with dedicated
hazardous waste storage containers. Hazardous waste storage containers shall comply
with the regulations on hazardous waste storage containers in Chapter 5 of GB 18597-
2001.
5.1.3 The mobile laboratory shall be equipped with a device to fix the waste container
to ensure that the waste storage container will not turn over when the mobile laboratory
is started, stopped or bumped in an emergency.
5.2 Hazardous waste marks
Hazardous waste storage facilities shall be equipped with warning signs in accordance
with the provisions of GB 15562.2-1995. Containers containing hazardous waste shall
be marked and labeled in accordance with the regulations of GB 13690-2009.
5.3 Hazardous waste storage and disposal
Laboratory hazardous waste shall be disposed of in specially designed, dedicated and
labeled containers for the disposal of hazardous waste. After the experiment is
completed, it shall be promptly returned to the user for processing according to the
requirements of GB 18484-2001, GB 18597-2001, GB/T 24777 and other relevant
regulations.
NOTE: The user shall refer to the parent organization to which the mobile laboratory belongs.
5.3.1 Radioactive hazardous waste
Radioactive hazardous waste shall be classified according to material and collected in
packaging bags with radiation warning labels. The type of hazardous waste, nuclear
type, surface radiation exposure intensity, handler and date shall be indicated on the
packaging or container. Places where high-dose radioactive hazardous waste is placed
shall be properly shielded. The disposal of radioactive hazardous waste shall be carried
out in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Regulations on the Safety
Management of Radioactive Waste".
5.3.2 Infectious hazardous waste
Infectious hazardous wastes are stored as follows:
a) Infectious hazardous waste shall be stored in packaging bags specified in HJ 421-
2008 (based on the principle of non-penetration). Set signs of infectious
hazardous waste;
b) If infectious hazardous waste is stored at room temperature, the storage time is
limited to 1 day. If refrigerated below 5℃, the limit is 7 days. For more than 7
days, freeze below -18°C.
The disposal of infectious hazardous waste shall be carried out in accordance with the
provisions of the "Technical Specifications for Centralized Disposal of Medical Waste"
(Trial).
5.3.3 Laboratory waste liquid
Laboratory waste liquids shall be mixed in storage barrels according to classification.
Waste liquid storage containers shall be divided into inorganic waste liquid storage
containers and organic waste liquid storage containers according to the mutual
solubility of the container material and waste liquid. Inorganic waste liquid storage
containers shall be made of plastic material. Organic waste liquid storage containers
shall be made of stainless steel. Laboratory waste shall be disposed of appropriately.
Discharge after meeting the requirements of GB 8978-2002.
5.3.4 Laboratory waste gas
Experiments that produce a small number of toxic gases shall be conducted in a fume
hood. A small amount of poisonous gas will be discharged to the outdoors through
exhaust equipment. The waste gas can be technically treated if necessary. Discharge
after meeting the requirements of GB 16297-1996.
5.3.5 Laboratory solid hazardous waste
Laboratory solid hazardous waste shall be stored in corrosive containers and non-
corrosive containers respectively. Sharps (including needles, knives, metal, glass, etc.)
shall be disposed of directly in a puncture-resistant container.
5.4 Safety protection for hazardous waste storage
5.4.1 All leaks cleaned up from hazardous waste storage facilities will be treated as
hazardous waste.
5.4.2 Hazardous wastes that are explosive, flammable and emit toxic gases under
normal temperature and pressure must be pre-treated. Store them after making them
stable; otherwise, store them as explosive or flammable dangerous goods.
5.4.3 Solid hazardous waste that does not hydrolyze or volatilize under normal
temperature and pressure can be stacked separately in storage facilities.

3 Terms and definitions

5 Hazardous waste management requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 Mobile laboratories shall set up space and facilities for waste disposal.

5.4 Safety protection for hazardous waste storage

5.4.2 Hazardous wastes that are explosive, flammable and emit toxic gases under
normal temperature and pressure must be pre-treated. Store them after making them
stable; otherwise, store them as explosive or flammable dangerous goods.
5.4.3 Solid hazardous waste that does not hydrolyze or volatilize under normal
temperature and pressure can be stacked separately in storage facilities.
