Scope

This Standard specifies general requirements—covering personnel, the environment,
equipment, testing process control, records, reports, and archives—for industrial computed
tomography (CT) non-destructive testing using X-rays and gamma rays.
This Standard is applicable to industrial CT testing of components and parts made of metallic,
non-metallic, and composite materials (covering a wide range of materials such as weldments,
castings, electronic assemblies, structures containing energetic materials, pyrotechnic products,
etc.). It may also be used as a reference for industrial CT testing in other application fields or
involving other types of radiation.
