3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Magnetic impurity
A substance that can be directly or indirectly absorbed by a ferromagnet.
NOTE: It mainly refers to the magnetic substances in the transition elements, such as iron,
chromium, nickel, zinc and their alloys. It refers to the combined amount of four elements of
iron, chromium, nickel and zinc in this Standard.
white powder with fluidity and without visible inclusions.
5 Test Methods
5.1 The chemical composition of the product shall be analyzed in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 11064 and Appendix A.
5.2 The magnetic impurity of the product shall be analyzed in accordance with the
provisions of Appendix B.
5.3 The granularity of the product shall be analyzed in accordance with GB/T 19077.
5.4 The appearance quality of the product shall adopt the visual inspection method.
6 Inspection Rules
6.1 Inspection and acceptance
6.1.1 The product shall be inspected by the supplier to ensure that the product quality
meets the requirements of this Standard and the order form (or contract); and fill in the
quality certificate.
6.1.2 The purchaser shall inspect the received products in accordance with the
provisions of this Standard. If the inspection results are inconsistent with the provisions
of this Standard and the order form (or contract), they shall submit to the supplier in
written form, which shall be resolved through consultation between the supplier and
the purchaser. Objections pertaining to appearance quality shall be submitted within
one month from the date of receipt of the product; objections pertaining to other
properties shall be submitted within three months from the date of receipt of the product.
If arbitration is required, it shall be negotiated by both parties.
6.2 Batching
Products shall be submitted for acceptance in batches; and each batch of products
shall consist of the same designation and the same mixture. The net weight of each
batch of products shall not exceed 10t. When supplied in large-batch, the method of
batching may be determined through consultation between the supplier and the
purchaser.
6.3 Inspection items
Each batch of products shall be inspected for chemical composition, magnetic impurity,
granularity, and appearance quality. The inspection items shall conform to the
provisions of Table 3.
6.5 Determination of inspection results
6.5.1 If the inspection results of chemical composition, magnetic impurity, and
granularity of the product are unqualified, double the number of samples from this
batch of products shall be taken to repeat the inspection for the unqualified items. If
the repeated inspection results are all qualified, the entire batch of products shall be
qualified. If there are still unqualified samples in the repeated inspection results, this
batch of products is determined to be unqualified.
6.5.2 If the appearance quality of the product is unqualified, this batch of products is
determined to be unqualified.
7 Marking, Packaging, Transportation, Storage and
Quality Certificates
7.1 Marking
The product shall indicate:
a) Product name;
b) Batch number;
c) Net weight;
d) Designation;
e) Appearance;
f) Name of the supplier;
g) Number of this Standard;
h) Place of origin;
i) “Corrosive substance” mark in Table 2 of GB 190-2009;
j) "Fear of rain" mark in Table 1 of GB/T 191-2008;
k) Production license number for Industrial product.
7.2 Packaging
7.2.1 Crystal type product of battery grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate is packed
by bags internally lined polyethylene (PE); externally cover the polypropylene (PP)
bags or two to three-layer paper bags. The internal bag is tied or heat-sealed; and the

Determination of Boron Content in Battery-Grade Lithium
Hydroxide Monohydrate by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic
Emission Spectrometry
Warning -- Persons using this appendix shall have practical working experience
in formal laboratory. This appendix does not point out all possible safety issues.
It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and
to ensure compliance with the conditions prescribed by the relevant national
regulations.
A.1 Scope
This appendix specifies the determination method of boron content in battery grade
lithium hydroxide monohydrate.
This appendix is applicable to the determination of boron content in battery grade
lithium hydroxide monohydrate. The measuring range is boron content of
0.00005%~0.010%.
A.2 Principle
Lithium hydroxide monohydrate is dissolved by hydrochloric acid; and the content of
boron was determined on an inductively coupled plasma atomic emission
spectrometer using a standard working curve method.
A.3 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise stated, only those reagents confirmed to be of guaranteed reagent
and ultrapure water with a resistivity of 18.25 MΩ • cm are used in the analysis. Avoid
using boron-containing vessels during the test.
A.3.1 Hydrochloric acid (ρ=1.19 g/mL).
A.3.2 Hydrochloric acid (1+1).
A.3.3 Boric acid (99.99%), spectroscopically pure. Vacuum dry at 60°C for 2h and
place in a desiccator to cool off to room temperature.
A.3.4 Boron standard stock solution: take 5.7179g of boric acid (A.3.3) in a 200mL
