3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 9881-2008 and the following terms and definitions apply to this standard. 3.1
Free height
It refers to the height of the gasket sample or product under zero load. 3.2
Deflection recovery
5.3.2.4.1 After the pollution and compatibility test between the gasket and the profile and glass, it is allowed for the light yellow pollution mark of the gasket sample on the profile and glass, BUT it is not allowed to have deep color outline or solid impression. The surfaces of the profiles, glass, and gasket samples shall be free from foaming, sticky, or rugged appearance.
5.3.2.4.2 After the pollution and compatibility test of the gasket and the silicon structural adhesive and silicon sealant, the color change of the structural adhesive and sealant test sample as compared with the control sample of the structural adhesive and sealant shall be equal to or less than the level 2 requirements in Table A.1 of GB 16776-2005.
5.3.2.5 Ageing performance
5.3.2.5.1 Ozone ageing resistance
After the ozone ageing resistance for 168 h, the sample surface shall be free from cracking.
5.3.2.5.2 Light ageing performance
After the light ageing test for 8GJ/m2 (4000 h), the sample shall comply with the following requirements.
a) Appearance. the surface does not appear crack, AND the color shall be not less than level 3 if assessed in accordance with the grey scale level of GB 250-1995.
b) Performance. When the static tensile elongation reaches 50%, the sample shall not break.
6 Test method
6.1 Sample preparation and requirements
The time interval between the molding and testing of the gasket product or sample shall not exceed 3 months, AND it shall ensure that the gasket products or samples are under the original status after processing AND able to be tested. When providing the gasket products or samples, it shall provide the drawings and data containing such information as cross-sectional dimensions, shapes, design hardness, designed working compression range, and the compressed working face. The requirements for the records and reports are as shown in Appendix A.
6.2 Appearance
In the natural light or equivalent artificial light source, at a distance of 0.3 m, CONDUCT visual inspection for the product appearance quality.
6.3 Dimensional tolerance
Dimensional tolerances and geometric tolerances can be measured with a
projector that can be enlarged 10 times.
6.4 Performance
6.4.1 Physical properties of the material
6.4.1.1 Hardness
At 23 ??C ?? 2 ??C, the vulcanized rubber type is prepared and detected in accordance with GB/T 531-1999, AND the thermoplastic elastomer type is
prepared and detected in accordance with GB/T 2411-2008.
6.4.1.2 Tensile strength, elongation at break
In accordance with GB/T 528-1998, the 1 type dumbbell-like sample is used for test at the test speed of 500 mm/min ?? 50 mm/min.
6.4.2 Compression permanent deformation
In accordance with GB/T 7759-1996, the B-type sample is used for test.
6.4.2.1 Hot air ageing
6.4.2.1.1 Hardness variation, tensile strength variation rate, elongation at break variation rate
Vulcanized rubber type is tested and calculated in accordance with GB/T 3512- 2001, AND the thermoplastic elastomer type is tested and calculated in
accordance with GB/T 7141-2008.
6.4.2.1.2 Loss on heating
In accordance with GB/T 528-1998, USE the type 1 dumbbell-like sample (5 samples for each group); accurately WEIGH 0.001 g; PLACE the sample in the 100 ??C ?? 2 ??C environment and START time keeping; after reaching to the specified time, TAKE the sample out; PLACE it into a desiccator and ALLOW it stand for 16 h; RE-WEIGH the heated sample, accurate to 0.001 g. The loss on heating is calculated in accordance with the equation (1), AND then the arithmetic mean is calculated.
6.4.2.3 Low temperature brittleness
SELECT the B type samples to conduct tests for vulcanized rubber type in accordance with GB/T 1682-1994 AND thermoplastic elastomer type in
accordance with GB/T 5470-2008.
6.4.3 Product performance
6.4.3.1 Deflection recovery
