This document describes a method for maintaining the minimum oxygen volume fraction for combustion in small, vertically aligned sheets under specified ambient temperature and oxygen/nitrogen mixed gas velocity, which is higher than that specified in ISO 4589-2. NOTE: the result is expressed as the High Gas Velocity Oxygen Index (HOI). This document specifies the equipment used for determining the HOI. This document applies to sheets with thickness not exceeding 2 mm and flexible sheet materials vertically supported by a specific specimen holder.
