Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020,
Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB/T 23922-2009, Tri-wheel vehicles and low-speed goods
vehicles - Manufacturer’s plate; compared with GB/T 23922-2009, in addition to
structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as
follows:
-- Add the term and definition of plate (see 3.3);
-- Add the requirements for the proportion of the frame of the plate (see 4.3);
-- Change the requirements for the font on the plate (see 4.5; 3.1 of the 2009 edition);
-- Change the requirements for the installation of the plate (see 4.7; 3.4 of the 2009
edition);
-- Add the requirements for the processing quality of the plate (see 4.8);
-- Add the requirements and test methods for the coating adhesion and oxide film
thickness of the plate (see 4.11, 5.3);
-- Add the requirements and test methods for peel strength and pull-out force
performance of tape-attached plates (see 4.12, 5.4);

1 Scope
This document specifies the content, type, fixed position and installation requirements,
performance requirements and test methods for related requirements for plates of low-
speed vehicles.
This document applies to the design, production and inspection of plates of low-speed
vehicles.
2 Normative references
The following documents are normatively referenced in this document and are
indispensable for its application. For dated references, only the version corresponding
to that date is applicable to this document; for undated references, the latest version
(including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1 Manufacturer
Manufacturers or companies responsible for manufacturing low-speed vehicles through
the assembly process.
3.2 Manufactured date
The date when the actual production of the complete low-speed vehicle is completed.
3.3 Plate
A rigid structural marker – carrying the information of the low-speed vehicle – installed
on the vehicle by riveting, welding, adhesive tape or other method.
above conditions, the size of the plate of low-speed vehicle can also be determined by
the manufacturer according to the specific form and fixed position of the product, but
it shall meet the requirements of being obvious, clear and easy to identify and read.
4.4 The plate shall be made of industrially pure aluminum, stainless steel, rolled thin
steel sheets, thermosetting plastics and other materials that are not easily damaged and
deteriorated.
4.5 The Chinese characters on the plate shall generally be the simplified characters
officially promulgated and implemented by the state. It is recommended to use bold,
long imitation SONG [Translator note: SONG is one of Chinese fonts] and imitation
SONG. The manufacturer can use the font and background color selected by itself, but
the background color and the color of the text and symbols shall ensure the content of
the plate to be clear, beautiful, and easy to identify. In case of special needs, traditional
Chinese characters or foreign languages can be used.
4.6 The height of Chinese characters, Arabic numerals and Roman letters used on the
plate shall not be less than 4 mm, and the width of the characters shall not be less than
3 mm. If the contents of the plate are printed directly on the vehicle components, the
height of the printed characters shall not be less than 7 mm.
4.7 The plate shall be firmly fixed. It shall be ensured that the installed plate will be
damaged once it is removed, and cannot be completely removed and used elsewhere. If
tape is used to paste the plate, the item shall be etched, and the adhesive used shall be
pressure-sensitive to ensure that the plate can be firmly pasted on a flat, smooth and oil-
free metal or non-metal surface. For tape-attached plates, there is no need to make
fastening hole locations. If a fastener-hole plate is used, as long as the plate can be
firmly installed on the vehicle, the fastener hole of the plate can be made into 2 holes
or 4 holes.
4.8 There shall be no obvious burrs, teeth and waves around the plate. The surface shall
be flat and smooth, without cracks and obvious scratches, as well as rust spots, specks,
and shadows that affect its clarity. The coating shall not have porosity, bubbles, haze,
smudges, wrinkles, flaking or signs of flaking, and obvious particulate impurities. There
shall be no crease marks, wrinkles, self-rolling tears, etc. on the tape-attached plates.
4.9 The fixed position of the plate shall be a part that is not easy to be worn, replaced
or covered, and the specific fixed position of the plate shall be indicated in the product
manual.
4.10 Each low-speed vehicle shall be at least permanently fixed with a plate on an easily
visible part.
4.11 The coating adhesion of the plate shall meet the requirements of 5.5.1 in GB/T
13306-2011, and the thickness of the oxide film shall meet the requirements of 5.5.3 in
GB/T 13306-2011.
