3 Terms and definitions
There are no terms and definitions that need to be defined in this document.
4 Product quality grade and technical requirements
4.1 General
Coal for direct liquefaction is classified according to volatile content, classified
according to hydrogen-carbon atomic ratio and ash content index, and expressed in the
form of “category + hydrogen-carbon atomic ratio grade + ash content grade”.
4.2 Product category
Coal for direct liquefaction is divided into two categories according to coal type, namely
lignite for direct liquefaction and bituminous coal for direct liquefaction. The
abbreviated codes are YH-HM and YH-YM, respectively. The coal types are mainly
long flame coal, non-stick coal, weakly sticky coal and gas coal in lignite and
bituminous coal. The coal category is determined according to GB/T 5751.
4.3 Quality requirements
4.3.1 Hydrogen-carbon atomic ratio grade
Coal for direct liquefaction is divided into two grades according to the hydrogen-carbon
atomic ratio (H/C) index, namely (H/C) grade 1 and (H/C) grade 2; for the
corresponding hydrogen-carbon atomic ratio index requirements for each product grade,
see Table 1.
5 Test methods
5.1 Ash and volatiles
The determination of ash and volatiles of coal shall be carried out in accordance with
GB/T 212 or GB/T 30732. The ash content of coal shall be arbitrated in accordance
with the slow ashing method in GB/T 212.
5.2 Carbon and hydrogen contents
The determination of carbon and hydrogen contents in coal shall be carried out in
accordance with GB/T 476 or GB/T 30733.
5.3 Total moisture
The determination of total moisture in coal shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T
211.
5.4 Phosphorus content
The determination of phosphorus content in coal shall be carried out in accordance with
GB/T 216.
5.5 Chlorine content
The determination of chlorine content in coal shall be carried out in accordance with
GB/T 3558.
5.6 Arsenic content
The determination of arsenic content in coal shall be carried out in accordance with
GB/T 3058.
5.7 Mercury content
The determination of mercury content in coal shall be carried out in accordance with
GB/T 16659 or SN/T 3511.
5.8 Grindability index
The determination of grindability index of coal (Hardgrove method) shall be carried out
in accordance with GB/T 2565.
5.9 Inertinite content
The determination of inertinite content shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T
8899.
e) When national or local quality supervision and management department proposes
a requirement for type inspection.
6.4.2 Type inspection items shall comply with the requirements of Table 4.
6.5 Determination rules
The quality of coal for direct liquefaction shall be determined in accordance with the
provisions of Table 3; when both the delivery inspection and type inspection results are
qualified, determine the batch of products qualified.
7 Identification, transportation and storage
7.1 Identification
7.1.1 Commercial coal produced and sold shall be identified according to the provisions
of GB/T 25209.
7.1.2 Identification, as a document accompanied the circulation of commercial coal,
shall include, but is not limited to, the following:
-- product name;
-- quantity:
-- place of origin;
-- nominal maximum particle size and appearance description;
-- main coal quality indexes: including but not limited to the indexes specified in
Chapter 4;
