Scope

This Part of GB/T 23319 specifies three methods for measuring the spirality of woven and
knitted fabrics after laundering (diagonal marking method, inverted T-marking method, and
mock garment marking method).
Test results obtained using different methods may not be comparable.
This Part is applicable to measuring the spirality of fabrics after laundering, not to measuring
the spirality formed during fabric manufacturing.
NOTE. Some fabric structures, such as coarse twill cotton, are intentionally skewed during
production. Fabrics produced by circular knitting machines may have an inherent non-
perpendicular stripe arrangement.

Summary This standard provides three methods of measuring woven and knitted fabric after washing skew (diagonal notation. Inverted T -shaped mark law. Analog clothing notation). Test results obtained by different methods may not be comparable. This section applies to skew the measurement of fabric after washing, rather than forming fabric manufacturing when measured against skew. NOTE: Some of the fabric structure. As denim intentionally formed in the production process skew. Circular knitting machine production of fabric may form the inherent non-vertical stripe -like arrangement.
