Foreword
GB/T 20303 “Cranes - Cabins” is divided into 5 parts:
-- Part 1: General;
-- Part 2: Mobile cranes;
-- Part 3: Tower cranes;
-- Part 4: Jib cranes;
-- Part 5: Overhead travelling and portal bridge cranes.
This Part is Part 5 of GB/T 20303.
This Part is equivalent to ISO 8566-5:1992 "Cranes - Cabins - Part 5: Overhead
travelling and portal bridge cranes".
This Part is equivalent to the translation of ISO 8566-5:1992.
For convenience of use, this Part makes the following editorial changes:
a) Change the term "this Part of ISO 8566" to "this Part of GB/T 20303";
b) Delete the foreword of the international standard.
This Part replaces GB/T 14407-1993 "Specification for cabins of overhead
travelling cranes and portal bridge cranes for general purposes".
This Part was proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 227
on Hoisting Machinery of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC
227).
This Part was drafted by the Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co.,
Ltd.; Zhejiang Jianhuan Electrical Machinery Co., Ltd. participated in the
drafting.

Cranes - Cabins - Part 5: Overhead travelling and
portal bridge cranes
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 20303 specifies the requirements for overhead travelling and
portal bridge cranes that are defined in ISO 4306-1.
2 Normative references
The terms in the following documents become the terms of this Part by
reference to this Part of GB/T 20303. For dated references, all subsequent
amendments (not including errata content) or revisions do not apply to this Part.
However, parties to agreements that are based on this Part are encouraged to
study whether the latest versions of these documents can be used. For undated
references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this
document.

3 Cabin structure
3.1 The general requirements of the cabin structure that is specified by GB/T
20303.1 are applicable in this Part.
3.2 The cabin size that is specified in Figure 1 is the minimum value; a larger
value can be used in practical applications. Through the seat index point (SIP),
the clear height shall not be less than 1 600 mm; the clear width shall not be
less than 900 mm; the clear depth shall not be less than 1 300 mm (see Figure
1).
