1 Scope
This Document specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules,
installation and packaging of vehicle travelling data recorder.
This Document applies to the design, manufacture, inspection and installation of the vehicle
travelling data recorder.

reference in this Document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated

the installation self-check fails, the corresponding unfinished installation operation shall
be displayed, and the abnormal self-check state signal of the recorder shall be output to
the vehicle.
b) Power-on self-check function: After the recorder is installed and self-checked normally,
each time the ignition switch (ACC) is turned on, the self-check of the positioning,
communication, memory and other modules and signal input state shall be carried out
first. If the power-on self-check fails, the corresponding abnormal information shall be
displayed, and the abnormal self-check state signal of the recorder shall be output to the
vehicle.
5.4.1.2 Data recording function
5.4.1.2.1 Driving state record
The recorder shall have the function of recording the driving state, and the driving state
recording shall meet the following requirements:
a) The recording contents include: real-time, real-time position information, corresponding
average driving speed (based on vehicle speed sensor or CAN signal) of each second
interval, reference speed (based on satellite positioning signal), and switch quantity
signal of the corresponding time during the driving process of the vehicle;
b) The time interval of recording is 1s;
c) The time for recording valid data records is no less than the last 168 unit-hours;
d) The speed recording unit is kilometers per hour (km/h), the measurement range is at least
0 km/h~220 km/h, and the resolution is no more than 1 km/h
5.4.1.2.2 Accident suspect point record
The recorder shall have the function of recording accident suspect points, and the accident
suspect point record shall meet the following requirements:
a) The record contents include: vehicle speed and switch quantity signal before 20s of the
end time of traveling, and position information at the end of driving; vehicle speed and
switch quantity signal within 20s before the power supply (including the backup battery)
power-off, and the position information at the power-off;
b) The recording time interval is 0.1s;
c) The number of records is no less than the latest 100;
d) The speed recording unit is kilometers per hour (km/h), the measurement range is at least
0 km/h~220 km/h, and the resolution is no more than 1 km/h.
5.4.1.2.3 Overtime driving record
The recorder shall have the function of overtime driving record, and the overtime driving record
shall meet the following requirements:
a) The record contents include: motor vehicle driver's license number, start time of
continuous driving and position information, end time of continuous driving and position
information;
b) The number of records is no less than the latest 50.
5.4.1.2.4 Driver information record
The recorder shall have the function of driver information recording, and the driver information
recording shall meet the following requirements:
a) Within 30s after the start time of travelling, record the corresponding picture of the driver's
facial features (obtained by video), motor vehicle driver's license number (obtained by
IC card), and driver's name (obtained by IC card);
b) The number of records is no less than the latest 100;
c) Time information needs to be superimposed on the driver's facial feature picture, and the
superimposed information does not affect the recognition of facial features.
5.4.1.2.5 Log record
The recorder shall have a log record function, and the number of records of various types of log
records shall be no less than the latest 100. The specific log records include:
a) External power supply log: Recorder’s log record of the power on and off;
b) Parameter setting log: Recorder’s log record of the setting and modification of relevant
parameters such as the motor vehicle plate number and plate classification;
c) Self-check log: Recorder’s log records related to the installation self-check and power-on
self-check;
d) Speed state log: Recorder’s log records of normality and abnormality based on the vehicle
speed sensor or CAN signal of the recorder;
NOTE: When the satellite positioning module works normally, the reference speed of the recorder
(speed based on the satellite positioning signal) is continuously greater than 40 km/h for 5 min:
when the difference (the difference between the recording speed and the reference speed divided
by the reference speed) between the recording speed (speed based on the vehicle speed sensor or
CAN signal) and the reference speed exceeds ±11%, the speed state is judged to be abnormal.
When the difference rate between the recording speed and the reference speed is within the range
5.4.1.4.2 IC card information identification communication
The recorder shall have the function of IC card information identification and communication,
which shall meet the following requirements:
a) The driver logs in through the IC card before driving, and the log in is done in the parking
state;
b) The IC card shall be able to record the driver's information such as motor vehicle driver's
license number and name; and the data storage format shall comply with the provisions
of Appendix C;
c) For contact IC cards, the physical characteristics meet the requirements of GB/T 16649.1,
and the size and position of the contacts meet the requirements of GB/T 16649.2;
d) The front of the recorder host is equipped with a reading and writing device matching the
IC card. The reading and writing device are equipped with a dust-proof protection device,
and can at least support reading and writing data of 24C0X series and 4442 series IC
cards.
5.4.1.4.3 Bluetooth communication
The recorder shall have the function of Bluetooth data communication, which shall meet the
following requirements:
a) Support the transmission protocol of Bluetooth 4.1 and above, and support the wireless
transmission rate of 1Mbit/s and above;
b) It is only used for data communication related to the driving record function, and cannot
be connected to public networks such as the Internet through Bluetooth;
c) Bluetooth data communication (pairing, connection, transmission) can only be used in
the parking state;
d) During Bluetooth data communication, the recorder transmits the corresponding data
according to the communication command;
e) The Bluetooth data communication protocol complies with the provisions of Appendix D.
5.4.1.4.4 Wireless public network communication
The recorder shall support general wireless public network communication, which shall meet
the following requirements:
a) support two or more remote connections;
b) The communication protocol for uploading the driving record data supports the relevant
requirements of JT/T 808, in which the command word complies with the provisions of
Table A.2 in Appendix A; and the driving record file complies with the provisions of A.2.
The recorder should support network secure connection and encrypted data transmission.
5.4.1.4.5 Data communication interface
The recorder shall be equipped with physical interfaces such as USB interface, driver
information identification interface, wireless public network communication antenna, and
satellite positioning communication antenna. The USB interface and the driver information
identification interface shall be located at the front of the host; and the USB interface connector
shall be Type-A, and an effective protection device shall be configured when not in use. The
satellite positioning communication antenna connector shall be Fakra-C; the wireless public
network communication antenna connector shall be Fakra-D; and all antenna connectors shall
be located at the rear of the host.
5.4.1.5 Safety warning function
The recorder shall be able to prompt the safety warning state by voice, and the content and
process of the voice prompt shall match the current driving state. The types and contents of
prompts include:
a) At 1h and 45min before the overtime driving occurs, the warning message "Overtime
driving is coming, please stop and rest for 20 min" shall be prompted once. Within 30
min before the occurrence of overtime driving, the warning information shall be
prompted at a frequency of 1 group every 5 min and 3 times per group; and the display
shall show the continuous driving time at the same time; after the occurrence of the
overtime driving, the warning information of “overtime driving, have continuously
driven for × × hours × × minutes” shall be prompted; the prompt frequency is 1 time per
minute; and the display shows the continuous driving time at the same time.
b) When the driving speed of the vehicle is greater than the speed limit set by the recorder,
or the speed difference from the speed limit is within the range of -2 km/h~0 km/h, a
speeding warning or warning message is issued to remind the driver to control the driving
speed, overspeed warning prompts 1 time, and the frequency of overspeed warning
prompts is 2 prompts per minute.
c) When driving the vehicle without the driver logging in, the driver shall be prompted to
log in within the first 5 min; and the display shall simultaneously display the prompt
information of not logging in, and the prompt frequency is 1 prompt per minute.
d) When the recorder’s self-check or speed state is judged to be abnormal, it shall prompt
the abnormality of self-check or speed state within the first 5 min, and the prompt
frequency is 1 prompt per minute.
5.4.1.6 Display function
than 60% value specified in Table 3; and there shall be no interference stripes, water ripples
and other phenomena.
5.6 Data analysis system
The data analysis system shall be able to collect, store and analyze the driving record data; and
the data analysis protocol shall comply with the provisions of Appendix A. The system shall
use the Chinese interface, which can be installed and used in the general Chinese operating
system. The system shall have functions such as query and statistics of driving record data,
graph generation, audio and video playback, parameter query, and operation authority
management. The data analysis system shall be able to generate at least the following charts:
a) Driving state record curve chart. The content and recording format of the chart meet the
requirements of 5.4.1.2.1; the abscissa is the real-time, and the ordinate is the vehicle
speed value, switch quantity signal, etc. corresponding to the real-time. The chart
information also includes the motor vehicle license plate number, motor vehicle license
plate classification, and motor vehicle driver's license number. Among them, the
information of the motor vehicle driver's license number needs to change with the login
time of different drivers.
b) The data curve chart of the suspected point of the accident. The content and recording
format of the chart meet the requirements of 5.4.1.2.2; and its ordinate is the vehicle
speed value and braking state signals corresponding to the real-time. The chart
information also includes the motor vehicle license plate number and motor vehicle
license plate classification, motor vehicle driver's license number, etc.
c) List of overtime driving records. The content of the list includes various data specified in
5.4.1.2.3.
d) List of driver information records. The content of the list includes various data specified
in 5.4.1.2.4.
e) List of log records. The content of the list includes the data of each log record specified
in 5.4.1.2.5.
